Description

I'm selling my 1966 Mustang with a 289 4v V8. It's an automatic with factory pony interior and factory air conditioning (that actually works!). It's got a new Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel demon carb. Bunch of extras come with it. Brand new back tires, bolts, speaker bits, hose coverings, and a new door handle (already put the other one on)It was sold new as a California car then some years later a guy sold it in Alabama. That's where the previous owner kept it for 13 years. It used to be all original and a handful of awful repair jobs were made. For instance, the dude tried to fix the rust in the cowl vent by putting spray foam in the rust. As you can imagine it didn't work. He also replaced the floor pans. Not a professional job but it works and doesn't leak from what I can tell. There are pinhole rust spots on the right side of the gas tank. I've put rust neutralizer on it but It's something that would need to be addressed.I bought it in Alabama where I did a bunch of upgrades: new radiator, hoses, tires, air shocks, disc brakes, rebuilt tranny, driveshaft, new front suspension components, new brake lines, new intake, new carburetor, door cards, package tray and other things that have slipped my mind. 107k original miles as the previous owner had it stored for 11 years after getting a new paint job.
The main drawback about the car is that I misplaced the title and Alabama won't issue a replacement title (The car is older than 35 years old) however Alabama says that you only need registration and a bill of sale. I have moved to Nebraska and am working on getting it registered here so the title should be taken care of in the next couple of weeks.
There are a few things that need to be done to make it a better daily driver- It needs the front windshield weatherstripping reset (apparently it didn't seat right because it leaks water on the drivers' side although I drove it on the highway and the windshield didn't budge so I think I centered it wrong)- It needs new vent window weatherstripping (I actually have the new rubber I just haven't installed it. It'll come with the car)- The entire car needs new paint (I've done what I can to help but it's getting to the point where it simply needs it)- The rust in the cowl should be dealt with at some point (I've got something covering the vent but I'd get it done)- The trunk needs to be fixed (It's got the original jack instructions and It felt wrong to throw away something like that)- It needs a smaller carb (It's got a 750 screaming demon on it, it drives fine it's just not ideal)So if you feel like taking on a project car that needs some work but not a full restoration. This one's for you.
