1984 Ford F150 4x4
This is an interesting truck for sure. It's a short wheel base Ford 4x4 with the 5.0 liter 302 engine and the 4 speed manual transmission w/granny gear. It also has the Warn lock out hubs.
The story on the truck;
My place is in the middle of ranch/farm country in north Texas. My neighbor bought this truck new, locally. The truck was taken to his farm and basically never left except to go to the feed store and run around town. He passed away about five years ago and his mom, at an elderly age, has kept the farm going. For the last two years, I have been hounding her to sell me Glyn's truck and she finally agreed.
Due to the fact that the truck had been sitting, I decided to replace everything that could be affected by sitting too long.
I'm a master mechanic and only buy the highest quality parts and OEM when available, so, here is a list of what I have done;
New radiator
New fan clutch
Complete tune up
New 2bbl carburetor (Ford)
New valve cover gaskets
New throw out bearing
New front shaft universal joints (rear are perfect)
New tires (including spare)
Blasted, primed and painted original wheels date coded 1984
New front disc pads, turned rotors
New rear shoes and spring kits, turned drums
New front and rear shocks (quad shock system front)
New rear (gray) step bumper
New exhaust
New front bearings and complete hub service
A/C serviced (works good)
New battery
New wiper motor (has delay)
New glove box lock assy with keys
New rubber floor covering
New visor arms (old ones were sagging)
New "Retro" Stereo system w/AUX port (have original am/fm)
New spray in bedliner kit (not installed)
New heater core and hoses
New fuel pump
New front & rear gas tanks w/sending units (gauges work)
New fuel selector switch
Folks, this is a nice looking original truck that drives perfect. It is showing 6,873 miles on the odometer and because the truck had not been inspected in decades, the Texas DPS put 106K miles on the inspection report because there was no previous record on file. They could not believe that it only had 6K miles on it. I have a new F250 but drive this truck daily back and forth to work. The color is desert tan and it has the original seat cover with one split on the driver's seat area. The only thing that I know needs some attention is the a/c / heat / defrost blend door is stuck. I just haven't got to it yet. Everything else works, down to the glove box light and the original Ford spare tire lock in the bed! I am including one picture of how I found the truck and one picture of me completely going through it!
Bid with confidence and come drive this truck home, no matter if you live in Alaska!
I have a clear Texas bonded title to the truck in my name. It has current inspection, registration and is insured at 15K. The ONLY rust (other than surface oxidation in the original paint) I have found, are a few pin holes in the passenger floor board beneath the heater core which is typical when you have a heater core that goes bad. This is basically a rust free truck.
If you are looking for an original classic 4x4 that will last for years, this is it. I will keep the truck inside and assist with loading on a transport if needed. I have sold several vehicles in my life and can give recent references.
Happy bidding!
