1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 4-Speed RARE Survivor
Description
Muscle Car Garage:We are a private collection of 50's, 60's, & 70's muscle cars. We also do topside restorations in our Jacksonville and Orlando area locations. From time to time we offer one of our collector vehicles up for sale. These are mainly topside restorations that can be driven to local car shows and cruise ins. Many of our vehicles are previous trophy winners. We are not dealers just car enthusiasts who have been collecting cars for years and performing very nice driver quality restorations for all to enjoy. We are not a concourse restorer and many of our cars are trailered to events but most vehicles can be driven if your choose to do so.
All Around Details:Up for auction is my 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. This is an unrestored original car that has had some cosmetic updates. Data plate decodes as a Rangoon Red, matching factory “C” code with Toploader 4-Speed, console, Front Disc Brake, & rare Rally pack option. This is an unmolested car with all original body panels and floor & trunk pans with no rust. Everything works on the car. Car has been repainted twice since factory paint. This is an exceptional car in excellent unrestored condition owned by a 87 year old man for 34 years. Car has many vintage parts including Fomoco hoses and a Sears air filter element from 1974. Inspection sticker from the state of Florida from 1982 is still present on the windshield.
Exterior Details:First and foremost this Fastback has all its original body panels with zero rust. Car has been repainted twice and current paint is base coat/clear coat that has been wet sanded and buffed. New front & rear bumpers as well as outside door handles, mirrors, antenna, & wiper arms. Has factory stainless spoke hubcaps in excellent condition as well as brand new white wall tires. New fender emblems were installed as well. Car has added rear GT valance with trumpet exhaust exiting the rear. Car is absolutely beautiful.
Interior Details:Tried to keep car as original to previous owner as possible with a few exceptions. Has new carpet, door panels, window cranks, door pulls, sill plates, and new deluxe steering wheel. Floor pans were just as if it rolled off the assembly line when we replaced the carpet with the factory primer present and untouched. Pictures hopefully do it justice. Console was cleaned, sanded, and repainted. Front bucket seats were reupholstered. New weatherstripping was installed replacing all original rubber. Dash has not been cut and factory working AM radio is still in place. Aftermarket Oil and Amp gauges were added long ago under dash and are working. All gauge and courtesy lighting are working including rear console and package tray lighting. Fold down rear seat with trap door into trunk. Glass is all original and in very good condition. Cowl vent does not leak. All in all interior presents itself in very good condition even items that are original and unreplaced.
Engine Bay & Mechanical:Car has remained stock aside from aftermarket headers. I do have the factory exhaust manifolds should the winning bidder request them. Export brace and monte carlo bar were added long ago. I replaced windshield washer bag, washer hoses and fittings. Car still has some FOMOCO hoses as evident by the pic from above on the engine bay. (Valve breather to air cleaner). When I got the car it still had a 1974 air filter element from Sears which I still have should the winning bidder request. I have since replaced with a new element. Car has no leaks and starts up right away every time. Car has optional front disc brakes which are manual and stop the car very well in a straight line. Transmission shifts as it should and rear end is factory gears and untouched. Exhaust has been replaced and has performance mufflers and has a nice rumble. Car does not run hot and oil pressure is very good. Mechanically this car has no issues. The engine bay is very clean with no grime or leaks.
Summary:This is a once in a lifetime find on a well preserved first year Mustang Fastback. This is not a car full of bondo or aftermarket replacement panels from Taiwan. This is an original unmolested unrestored example that does not come up for sale very often. I am a Mustang collector and this is one of my finest and most stunning. I encourage any vehicle inspection prior to taking delivery. I can also help arrange for an independent inspection and can provide some reputable transport companies should you decide to contract a carrier to pick up and deliver your new vehicle.
