1964 1/2 Ford Mustang Coupe
Description
This American classic was built in the San Jose, California plant in late July of 1964. It has been in the family as 2nd owners of the car since 1978. The original owner of the vehicle installed factory Ford air conditioning at the dealership and changed the color of the car from its original maroon color paint with black interior to its current white paint color with red interior. That look has been maintained ever since. As the stories go about the original Mustang builds, Ford was scrambling to keep the flow of parts going to the factories. As such, the VIN indicates that this car is equipped with a 289 V8. However, the emblem on the side of the car curiously shows that it is a 260 V8, which was a ford engine that was supplied to other cars during that period. The transmission is a 2 speed “Cruise-A-Matic” automatic transmission. However, it also allows you to drop into one more lower gear for sportier driving, which is a lot of fun. In 1989, it was professionally outfitted with an alternator system replacing the original unreliable generator systems. The trained eye could not tell the difference, but the best news is that the car has started reliably ever since. Mileage stated at 96,868 is original! It has been garaged for most of its life, and looks and runs great!
