1979 Ford F-150 Pickup Truck 1979 Used Automatic
Description
Unique and fun. This show truck has worked the circuit but is ready to retire and just have fun. However, it needs a like-minded driver to fire it up and go along for the ride. Would that be you? Come on down and check it out. You know you want to. This truck is one of those builds that went from wild and crazy ideas around a dinner table to reality. It sits up high on big rubber and is dressed up in Silver and Chrome. Maroon and Orange stripes start on the hood, angle off the edge and run down the side. Up front an eggcrate grill is flanked by rectangular headlights and polished up real nice. A push bar is mounted to a shiny chrome bumper and has driving lights mounted in it, and fog lights mounted below it. Custom bumpers both front and rear below the chrome ones double as hydraulic tanks for the tilt hood and tilt bed. The bed itself is trimmed out in quilted Maroon like a custom van with padded floor, benches and cupholders, but without the restrictions of a roof or walls surrounding you. Much nicer when you are backed up along the banks of a lake or stream. Open the door and you will find a black and Maroon door panel along with an interior that continues the custom quilted Maroon theme. A modified bench has two high back bucket seat backs with a low-cut center section that allows access to the sliding cab window which might come in handy for passing drinks back and forth while parked lakeside. There is a leather wrapped, three spoke steering wheel with a column shifter for the automatic transmission and the transfer case shifter is flexing its mini-Mack muscles with a Bulldog knob on floor. The controls for the hood and bed hydraulics are off to the left side of the dash while in the center is an aftermarket FM/Cassette stereo with a CB radio mounted below it. A woodgrain panel on the glovebox says "Custom" in lettering, which is like the ultimate understatement on this truck, and Maroon carpeting with a quilted headliner tie the look of the interior together nicely. Let the show begin by powering up the hood to expose a nicely dressed out 351 cubic inch powerhouse. There is a chrome air topper as well as chrome valve covers and alternator. Long tube headers wind their way out the bottom to dual mufflers that exit out in front of the rear wheels with chrome tips. But the stars of the show are the hydraulics and the suspension. Dual rams push the hood up and the suspension is jacked up and beefed up with heavy duty springs and dual shocks. The frame rails are painted maroon while the front coil springs are orange and the rear leaf springs maroon, so things look super cool with both ends popped up. The hydraulic pump as well as a set of air horns are visible with the bed up and skid plates protect both the front and rear differentials. Chrome two-piece bolt together rims have 17/40-15LT Gumbo Monster Mudder tires mounted for an awesome look and a certain feeling of invincibility. This is a unique and fun truck that is looking for someone to go out and have a good time with. Come on down and see if y'all get along together. Then take it home and head out for some fun.
