1963 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible Convertible 1963 Futura Convertible Used
Description
With its V8 power, four-on-the-floor, perfect color combination, and freshly restored condition, it's hard to beat this 1963 Ford Falcon Futura convertible for vintage top-down fun. And when you see the upgrades - from the larger motor to the A/C interior - you'll realize how irresistible this classic really is. The Ford Falcon is the car that fathered the Mustang, and now that it has matured into vintage status, you can really see the grown-up appeal on this convertible. This is especially true when the economy car roots are erased on the top of the line Furura trim. There's plenty of brightwork, including beautiful chrome bumpers, intricate grille, dual gunsight fender ornaments, and the afterburner-style tail lamps. And we especially love the arrow-like Futura side trim that seems to keep this convertible pointing forward. All of this shows exceptionally well against a recent professional application of the factory-correct Corinthian White. And while these are all terrifically correct pieces, there are some nice subtle upgrades. The half-chrome headlights and Mustang styled steel wheels hint at this droptop's performance upgrade. The white roof looks nice in place, but with the flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal a stellar red interior. Not only is this a terrific color against the white exterior, but also all the red exterior accents (including within the side trim and hood scoop) make this look like a highly coordinated package with the roof down. More than just a great color, they made some very cool investments in this Falcon. The seats are the rare split-bench w/armrest with a design inspired by the first years of the Ford Mustang. As you look across the dash, everything is correctly in place, right down to the working clock. But then you also sport some more upgrades like retro-style AM/FM radio with digital tuner, three-spoke sports steering wheel (original comes with the sale, too,) and there's a modern R134a air conditioning system to keep you cool with the top down long into the summer season. While you saw some Mustang-inspired touches inside and out, the best one is under the hood. This has been upgraded to Ford's 289 cubic-inch V8. More than just being larger than anything offered in for the Falcon in '63, this convertible has been further upgraded with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. Plus, the dual exhaust has the sweet sound of power. So this Falcon can really fly, and you get full control of it all thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. And this restored classic also has thoughtful driving features like power steering and power brakes with front discs. There's even aluminum radiator so you can run cool even in traffic with the A/C pumping. Complete with maintenance records, this is a very thoughtful restoration of a terrific vintage convertible. Complete classics like this are a rare sight, so don't miss your chance. Call today!!!
