"Black Lightning" was built in 2014 from the ground up as a no compromises Resto-Mod. Using the complete underpinnings of the famed ford SVT Lightning including a supercharged 5.4L V8, Lightning-specific 4R100 transmission and limited slip 9.75" rear end with 3.73 ratio. The Lightning boxed frame was powder coated and features all-new short-long arm suspension with SVT over sized front and rear sway bars. Stopping power is provided by upgraded 4-wheel slotted and drilled disc brakes with ABS. The interior features a custom leather-wrapped dash with Dakota Digital gauges and modern Ford air conditioning and heat. Leather wrapped power seats and a large center console finish out the interior. The Ford anti-theft system is used along with keyless entry. The exterior features an all-steel body with beautiful black base coat/clear coat PPG paint, shaved front and rear bumpers, reverse tilt hood and custom 20" American Racing wheels. The bed features a chrome-trimmed oak floor and a tailgate with hidden hinges and bear claw latches. This build was designed to showcase the brilliant Ford SVT drive train in the timeless F100 body.
