1976 FORD F250 Ranger XLT Supercab 2WD 1 Family 460 AT AC All Original Classic
Description
* 1976 FORD F-250 SUPERCAB * * RANGER XLT 2WD * * One Family Ownership * * Low Miles Factory AC * * NO RESERVE !! *
Before you and up for bid at NO RESERVE is my all original 1976 Ford F-250 RangerXLT Supercab 2WD pick up. The particulars of the truck are as follows:
* One family owned Colorado ranch truck. The truck was purchased new from O'Meara Ford in Denver. (Omaha order, Kansas City production)
* Varied ranch duties, primarily utilized for pulling a hay wagon.
* Only 110,034 actual miles
* A "survivor". Save for items that necessitated replacement given to time, wear or safety, the truck is all original. This is not a restored truck.
* Original to the truck 7.5 liter, 460 ci engine. Rebuilt in the mid 90's (pistons, rings, bearings (rod, main, cam) gaskets, valve springs, etc.) The truck had approx. 84k miles at that time.The truck starts up first hit of the key, and holds a smooth idle. It accelerates effortlessly to 75 mph.
* C6 automatic transmission, shifts smoothly throughout including reverse
* 4 bbl carburetor, original to the truck, a couple of rebuilds
* Dana 60 rear, 3.54 axle
* XLT trim level, top of the line for 1976
* Factory AC, all components and plumbing are present with exception to the compressor
* Power steering
* NO accident history, minor bumps and scratches associated with 43 years of ranch use. Factory FORD K exterior paint. This is not "lipstick on a pig', meaning that it has not been gussied up. I personally compounded the paint to remove any oxidation. What you see before you is 43 year old factory applied paint. Nice reflection, it does have imperfections.
* The carpet was soiled and therefore discarded. In retrospect, it was not appropriate for ranch life. The floors are solid as can be seen in the pictures.
* The front seat has just been reupholstered and rebuilt where needed, it was worn in areas on the driver side.
* The truck was ordered with the desirable and rare jump seats along with the pop-out windows
* This was not a winter use truck as pertains to being driven on roads with corrosive agents. The fact is, Colorado did not start using salt and mag chloride on our roads until 2000.
* The truck has little rust. The frame and floors are solid, as are the rockers and door skins. Both cab corners have slight surface rust, not rot. The drip rails are good. The most extensive area is the right rear wheel arch. (see pic) This was a drainage issue for Ford, common to these F series. Any competent body man can easily repair these areas.
* Good chrome bumpers, no pitting or discoloration
* All emblems and bright work are present
* Both windows roll up and down properly, the wing windows open and close
* The locks operate either manually or by key
* Factory cruise, it works periodically
* JVC stereo, it is operable, however, I removed the unmounted rear speakers
* All seat belts are present, good condition
* All lights are operational
* All gauges are fully functional
* Good exhaust
* Dual fuel tanks, dash switch, both operable
* Heavy duty tow pkg., dual connectors
* Emergency brake holds firm
* All original glass, the windshield has a small crack at the upper right corner. It is out of vision field and can not spread further.
* Nice headliner, good visors and door panels
* Period correct Century camper shell, both sliding windows are screened
* Good bed, it shows signs of use, though no major dents or holes. The tailgate opens and closes properly.
* The tires are fair, all hold air. I have the 2 hub caps not pictured
* NO door sag
* Original books, keys, operational pamphlets, etc.
At now 44 model years of age, the F-250 is in good original condition. It has been looked after by family members that understood the value of preventive maintenance and care.
The truck could easily be a daily driver, or restore it as you drive. It is an ideal platform for a full on restoration. All parts are readily available and inexpensive.
Supercab trucks from this era are increasingly becoming as difficult to source as crew cabs.
You are bidding to purchase the F-250, not to be the first to look at it. Thank you.
Inspections are welcome and will be facilitated to the best of my ability prior to the auction concluding.
Please have your funding in place prior to placing your bid.
Please consult with your spouse, therapist, pet, or MAGIC 8-BALL, prior to placing your bid, as I am not running a clinic for the confused. Thank you.
The truck and I are presently located in the Naples/Ft. Myers vicinity, (Cape Coral)
Delivery or transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
While I am confident that the truck could be driven home safely to anywhere in America, I don't advocate it. Old trucks are just that...old. Miles from home, in an unfamiliar location is not the place to become acquainted with your "new" old truck. Get it home first I always say.
With that said, if you are to fly in and drive home, I will gladly pick you up at the S.W. Florida International Airport in Ft. Myers, or the regional airport in Punta Gorda.
Delivery is possible within the lower 48 states for $1000.00 (non-negotiable), as I own a Hodges transport.
If you secure your own transport carrier, I will coordinate with and assist that shipper.
The truck is being sold at NO RESERVE. A $1000.00 initial payment is due and payable within 24 hours of auction close via PayPal. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The balance is due and payable within 7 days thereafter under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer.
The balance is to be paid via a legitimate bank to bank wire transfer, as it provides a documented record of the transaction for both parties.
If you choose to fly in and drive home, I will accept cash for the balance provided that it has been addressed within the 7 days of auction close window.
The truck and the title to the truck will not be released until payment in full has been received. Upon receipt of payment in full, I will overnight via FEDEX the title and bill of sale documents to the new owner.
If you are to fly in and drive home, I will offer the option of hand delivering these documents to you upon your arrival.
I require that the winning bidder contact me by phone within 24 hours of auction close to discuss further arrangements.
If you are "new" to ebay, have 0% feedback, excessive negative feedback, or less than 10 transactions, you will need to CALL ME prior to placing your bid and express your intentions. (convince me that you're legitimate)If you do not call me prior, your bid will be cancelled and you will be blocked from further bidding. This is to preserve the integrity of the auction. These auctions cost money, but more importantly time. I will not waste your time, please do not waste mine.
Clear Colorado title in my name.
I am not a dealer, I am a collector/hobbyist. Since 2007, I have sold more than 25 of my personal vehicles through eBay. Where collector vehicles are concerned, condition is open to interpretation. I have represented the F-250 honestly and accurately.
Given the age of the truck, by bidding you acknowledge your understanding that the truck is being sold in "as is" condition with no expressed, written or otherwise implied warranties.
I reserve the right to cancel the listing at any time should the truck become no longer available.
Buyers from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand are welcome and encouraged to bid with confidence.
If the truck is sold to an international buyer, I am available with my aforementioned transport to get the truck to the requisite port for reasonable expenses.
eBay provides for 24 pictures. I have selected pictures that best present a concise overview of the truck. If you would like any area specific pictures, simply request them.
I answer my phone quicker than I respond to e-mail. If you have any questions, call me directly. If you reach voice mail, leave a brief message and a contact number, and I will return your call promptly.
If you would like to discuss a "buy it now", call me and present your offer. DO NOT call and ask me, "what's the lowest that you'll take?"
This is a classic Ford truck that won't break the bank to own. It is from an era when trucks were trucks. Trucks have been on the uptick for a few years now, get yourself a decent one while they're still affordable.
Aside from the originality of this F-250 Supercab, the best aspect is that I know where it has been for the last 43 years.
Thanks for looking and good luck when you bid.
