Description:
Up for auction is my '73 Ford 3/4 ton 4x4 retired construction truck. This one is pretty interesting. Has a 410 Merc FE out of a '67 Marauder. Around 45k on a rebuild back in the '90s with 428 (LoPo) heads. Ignition is mechanical. Runs great! Drives great! The engine has an Autolite 4100 on top, which is one of the best 4bbl carbs ever designed. Has the original fuel tank plus an aux tank. Original tank works just fine, switching works for secondary, but secondary tank needs to be cleaned and re-plumbed. The rest of the driveline is stock. 4x4 works. Manual brakes. Manual steering. Chassis has 235k.
Brand new battery and starter solenoid. Newer load range E tires with less than 2000 miles (on 16in wheels), radiator, spindle connecting rod, fuel pump, and all u-joints. Rear ring and pinion replaced within the last ten years. Seat out of a late '80s half ton. Custom headache rack. Has electrical for trailer and camper but both likely need gone through if you want to use. Heater works real well. Radio works when it wants to. Brake lamps and turn signals work, headlights work, taillights/parking lamps intermittent. Body and interior rough, but that's just character. Rust in the usual places, but frame is solid, they do not salt the roads here. Truck has always been in Colorado. Rear main, oil pan, trans, t-case, rear pinion seal and right front axle seal leak. I never used it enough to replace any of those. Records dating back to the early '80s.
Brakes work well, BUT brake hoses are tired and wearing out, no leaks or problems, but do need replaced - (I've been driving it this way for years, but do not recommend that anyone else do this.) New hoses included with sale.
Also included with sale: extra set of heads, t-case, steering box, lifters, pushrods, carb jets, a carb or two, extra set of wheels (16in), service bibles, ect. Have to go through everything to see what else I've got for you, I'm sure I'm forgetting something.
Payment due in three days. Cash or check (will go to bank with auction winner). Local pick up only. If shipping, winner of auction must arrange.
Feel free to call me with any questions you may have, but please read entire ad before calling, thank you!
