1987 Ford Mustang LX Coupe Roller No Engine or Transmission
Description
For sale is this 1987 Ford Mustang LX coupe. The car is a roller, and originally was a 4 cylinder car. It was last set up with a carbureted small block Ford engine and manual transmission. It has a Cervini dual cowl hood, and an otherwise stock body. The paint is good overall, but there is scuff on the left rear bumper cover, under the broken tail light, from a parking lot accident, and a few other very minor scratches . The color is a dark blue that looks purple in some light. It isn't perfect, but the car is very presentable.
The interior has been updated with 2003-2004 Cobra seats, including the fold down rear seat, which is functional. The gauges are all Auto Meter Phantom Series.
The car was put together at Year One Inc., in Braselton, GA, for one of the owner's family members. It has SSBC front and rear disc brakes (5 lug), with later Mustang 17" wheels. The rear end is a Ford Racing 8.8 with 3.73 gears and a Traction-Lok differential, and an aftermarket girdle-style rear cover. The rear upper and lower control arms are aftermarket (will verify manufacturer). The front suspension has a new QA1 tubular k-member and lower control arms, with a coil-over conversion and a manual rack and pinion. There is no AC, but heat is retained. The battery is trunk mounted (Optima), and hasn't been charged in a couple of years so may need replacement. The fuel system consists of a stock-style tank and Holley Black electric pump, with all AN lines and fittings, and a carb-style regulator. It could easily be returned to EFI for your 5.0 based engine, Coyote, or LSx swap.
Tail pipes are still on the car, and a MAC Power Chamber long tube style off-road X-pipe is included. Also included are an MSD6AL box, front coil springs, the original engine driven fan, a large aftermarket front swaybar, and a Ford Racing aluminum radiator with factory V8 style shroud that aren't currently installed.
