1966 Ford F-250 4x4, 352 engine, 4 speed, original low miles, runs awesome!!!
Description
This is a rare 1966 Ford F-260 factory 4x4. Its an F-250 that is a 4x4 - Ford called that an F-260 at that time. This is present on the vehicle data tag on the drivers door jamb. Many people used to "convert" a 2 wheel drive into a 4 wheel drive. Therefor the only way to know a truck came from the factory as a 4 wheel drive was to verify that the data plate indicated a "260" designation.
There is ZERO RUST anywhere on this truck!!! The rain(drip rail) even has the ORIGINAL molding inside!
This truck is nearly all original - from the steering wheel to the 2 piece steel wheels! The drive train has been decoded and is original to this truck. The factory FE 352 engine runs like a sewing machine. This particular truck was ordered with a 4V(barrel) intake manifold which is rare. DANA 60 in the rear with a DANA 44 in the front. Factory 4 speed on the floor with a granny 1st gear. I have the original owners manual and BOTH original keys! It also still has the ORIGINAL small fire extinguisher on the passenger side kick panel!
The miles are ORIGINAL! The truck has spent the last 30 years as a farm truck in Tillamook Oregon! Incredibly most everything on the truck is in working order - all of the lights including turn signals, license plate light and even the hazard/warning lights! The original A.M. radio also works! So do the 2 speed windshield wipers. The horn works, the windows function correctly and the in-door zippered map pockets appear new! I even fixed the foot-pump operated windshield washer fluid system! (the red bag on the driver side engine wheel well). The steering is NOT power but really does not need it. An old lady could turn this steering wheel!
What is NOT original on the truck:
The tires are brand new - they are DOT legal and were made from the original castings from the period.
The previous owner (P.O.) added the brake booster and the larger capacity master cylinder. I replaced both with new ones.
The Holley 4 barrel carb is new.
The air cleaner is not original.
The radiator is not original but is new.
The mufflers are not original.
What is NEW on the truck:
Shocks (front).
Brakes front and rear (shoes, wheel cylinders, brake lines, brake light pressure switch)).
Kingpins x 4 (front axle).
Knuckle wiper seals (front axle).
New right and left tie-rod ends.
New steering linkage ball joints.
New front and rear differential gaskets.
New maximum traction period correct DOT approved tires.
Drive belts, upper/lower radiator hoses, new battery with all new pos/neg cables.
Oil pan gasket with fresh oil.
Intake manifold gasket.
New Valve cover gaskets.
New correct Autolight spark plugs.
New plug wires, cap, rotor and points.
New Holley 4 barrel carb.
New headlamps.
New thermostat/coolant temp sensor.
New starter.
New starter solenoid and wires.
New windshield wipers.
New door rubber.
New period correct reupholstered seat.
Interior and dash restored.
New side window felt and runners.
New Wiring front to back. (under dash wiring mostly original).
New correct "Rangoon Red" repaint in period correct single stage enamel.
Truck is titled in my name and driving on the road. The truck starts instantly and idles like a dream. The choke functions just like it should as well. The battery has a cut-off switch for long term storage purposes if needed. The gun rack is included AND original. Both differentials have been inspected and serviced with fresh gear oil. Motor oil is fresh. Brake fluid is all new. Coolant is all new. The truck has the original fuel tank behind the seat - however at one point the P.O. had "saddle tanks" under the bed. This is what the square white doors are for. Although the tanks are no longer there, the plumbing and selector switch are all present. New fuel lines and filter were added.
I have Countless hours in this beast - there are VERY FEW of these classic Ford 4x4s left on this planet. Although the truck is not perfect - you would have a hard time trying to find another one this original and in this operational condition. I will gladly assist in shipping - at buyers expense. I'm just 20 minutes or so north of Downtown Los Angeles, CA. Access to the 5 freeway is nearby. I am old school and request payment in cash. I will not fall for ANY scams - I know them all and you are wasting your time!!!
Not really interested in trades but never say never. Feel free to make a REASONABLE offer but I will ignore ALL LOWBALL offers.
