For sale: Original survivor time capsule 1969 Ford LTD 2 door hardtop, one older owner 1969-2016. Throwback to the "Mad Men" 1960s when real men drove big American sedans. It's a rust free, summer-driven, inside-stored, honest all original car with no issues - very difficult to find these days. I bought the car three years ago in Montana’s Flathead valley near Glacier National Park. I was on a family vacation there, and spotted the car for sale along Highway 2. I stopped in to chat with the original owner, who was in his 80s, and we talked cars and life. He was a retired auto parts store owner, and had ordered the car new at T & V Ford in Polson, and had cared for and maintained it for nearly 50 years. I told him I had a collection of old cars including a couple of low mile original Galaxies, and we hit it off. I didn’t buy the car as I really didn’t have room for it – but gave him my number. He called me a few weeks later, and said he wanted me to find a good home for the car. I bought the car, loved it, and just couldn’t sell it. Fast forward three years, and I found an all original one owner 1966 Galaxie 500XL 390 4 speed car, so it's finally is time to let the LTD go. It’s an amazing all-original true survivor, right down to the original CarLite windshield - even inside the trunk looks new. Comes with complete original documentation including window sticker, manual, owner card, warranty papers, copy of original 1969 title and Ford times magazine. Original jack, handle, and lug wrench. Very well maintained over the years. Anything that didn’t work perfectly on the car was replaced. Exterior: Original in very good survivor condition. Factory-applied Black Jade paint still shines and original vinyl top in good condition. NO RUST, period - car was not driven in winter and has never seen salt. Even no blisters under the vinyl top. Does have the usual scratches and chips from 50 years of use. See linked Photobucket album for 85 pics including underside and trunk. Nothing hidden or covered up with undercoat, what you see is what you get. Glass is good, original CarLite windshield intact. Chrome, moldings and brightwork in good condition with no pitting. Sharp looking car that will draw a crowd at the gas station or at Cars N Coffee.

Interior: All original and in very good condition. Original dash pad is perfect, so that's $1500 you don't have to spend at JustDashes. NO CRACKS in steering wheel. Original seat has one small tear on a seam, not noticeable at all. Original door panels and headliner all in excellent condition, even the faux wood and simulated chrome are bright and clear. Original carpet is intact with some wear and one torn area behind driver seat. Car was properly stored, no rodent or moisture damage. Probably the nicest original 50 year old interior you’ll ever see. As far as I know, absolutely everything works.

Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out great. Super tight car - no squeaks, rattles, or wind noise. Original 390 engine pulls strong and smooth. No smoke, noises, or major leaks. 390 is backed up by bulletproof C-6 trans and 9" rear. Car was well maintained, as you would expect from an auto parts store owner. Anything that didn’t work perfectly was replaced. As far as I know, absolutely everything works - the only small thing I can think of to mention is that you have to lift up a bit on the shifter to engage neutral safety to start, as with all the column shift Fords of this era. Since I've owned the car, the brakes have been completely gone through, radiator and hoses replaced, the original carb rebuilt, and the motor mounts and fuel tank sending unit float replaced. Tires have good tread with no cracks, but are at least 20 years old. Wheels are the original Kelsey-Hayes 15".

Pricing/Misc: This car is NO RESERVE and will sell. Runs and drives very well,but flying in and driving it home probably isn’t a great idea, as Montana is a huge state with many remote areas with no cell service or roadside assistance. Reasonable transport is available, I will drive to meet your transporter and help load it. Title is clear and in my name, buyer will need to get insurance upon purchase as I will cancel mine. Truck can stay here for 30 days, after that $100/month storage will be due.
