The Galaxie has worn many hats over the years, but there is no doubt the mid-60s were a time of fun for the Galaxie. It had always walked the line of being a muscle car, but always fell more to the side of luxury. Now, it was finally stepping across that line the other way. Why This Car Is Special This is a great car for someone looking to get into the hobby with a turn key car that won't break the bank. Or for someone who wants a car they can really drive and enjoy, maybe even as a daily driver. Mechanical The C code 289 is a great fit for the Galaxie. They have good power, great reliability and are easily beefed up, if that's your desire. This particular car has an Edlebrock intake and upgraded coil to start that process. It has good power and a great sound from the true dual exhaust that exits the rear. The power is run through a 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts on the column. Power steering and power brakes make this car a blast to drive and it will stop on a dime! Interior Inside we find a stock black vinyl interior. A bench seat with seat belts is split so your backseat passengers can easily climb in and out. A touch of woodgrain and a clock behind the steering wheel harken back to the days that the Galaxie was a luxurious cruiser. "Galaxie 500" is embroidered onto the black carpet floor mats and adds a nice custom touch. The trunk is also stock and is in great shape with a correct trunk mat. Exterior This Galaxie has a great look with Cragar SS wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial TA tires. A big and bold squared off front end looks incredibly menacing coming down the road with the stacked headlights on each side. Coming around the side you get a full view of the sweeping body lines that almost lend themselves to a fastback roof line. Sporty body lines run the length of the car and take you back to the only thing most people will see ... the square taillights and the word "FORD" across the trunk lid. It is quite the view, and the dual exhaust tips will let them hear why they are seeing the back of your car, with a great muscle car exhaust note.
