Description

VERY FAST 1968 Thunderbird. I bought this back in 1998 in Georgia. It had belonged to a Doctor who passed away and a friend inherited the contents of the garage it was in. It was partially restored but trim, gas tank, bumpers were off the car. It had sat in the garage for at least 10 years. The motor looked shiny like it had been restored but I couldn't say it was. We put it together and did the brakes and it ran really well. Nothing leaks from this old girl. Updated with an electronic ignition at some point. Due to a divorce it has sat for the last 7 years in a dusty shed. The gas was ran out of it when parked on blocks. I had it towed back home last spring into my garage, put gas and a battery in it and it started, ran, and drove. It runs a little rough but the plugs were due to be changed when parked, and the brakes were grabbing. I will have the brakes fixed and tune it up and have the oil changed for the buyer. The whole steering system was new when I bought it and I honestly have to say it drove very tight and effortless at 80 mph. I just loved the power in this thing. I did have spring helper shocks put on the rear about 10 years ago and the ride became much stiffer like a newer car. It doesn't wallow like some older cars. I have too many vehicles and have to get my garage cleaned out. The headlight doors, turn signals, and brake lights work well. Clock works and was converted to digital years ago. It has taken me a year to decide to let this car go. Everybody loves it when you drive by. There is a scratch in picture on rear drivers side pulling too close to the garage door from years ago. I have some extra parts with it. including a nicer front bumper that was with it when I bought it.
