CAR HISTORY:

I purchased the car in 1972, at the time it was running andI drove it home a distance of 90 miles with no problems. In 1973 I began a ground up restoration that was not completed until 1982.When I purchased the carthe following car components were originalto the car; engine (see photo for matching numbers), transmission, radiator, radiator shell, horn, generator, electric windshield wiper, chrome instrument panel ( had to haveit rechromed)and all the body components ie fenders, doors, trunk lid, headlights, cowl lights, and to the best of my ability I think all the glass is originaland believe it or not the ignition switch and key. If you look at the brass key very carefully you can see the words "Briggs & Stratton". The following items are reproductions that I purchased for the restoration; both front and rear bumpers, motormeter, stone guard, running boards, step plates, drivers door mirror. In the 44 years that I have had the car my employer transferred me like six times and that is the reason for the trailer. At all my locations the car was always stored in a unheated garage. The car is painted with Sherwin Williams Acrylic Lacquer. In all the years I had the car the total mileage I put on itis less than 500 miles. The car is registered in the state of Florida and I have the Title and Permanent Registration Certificate. The Florida plate on the front of car is not the original plate.

RESTORATION HISTORY:

As previously noted the car had a ground up restoration, as shown in some of the old pictures. The engine wasrebuild by an old time mechanic that had the equipment and ability to pour and line bore the main babbitt bearings. The engine was bored out 0.030 inches and new pistons installed and all new valves were installed. The transmission was fine and no major parts were replaced. All the brake linings were replaced. All the body components are original, no fiberglass fenders. The floor boards are not plywood but glued stripes just like Henry did it.A number of years ago the paint started cracking and chipping off, this can seen on the various pictures.I feel that the combination of long trailered trips and storage conditions contributed to this paint failure. The car spend 20 years in the Chicago area with -20 degree winters and in West Texas for two summers with 100+ temperatures. The ENTIRE car needs to be repainted.

ENGINE PERFORMANCE:

The engine idles ataround375-450RPM"s. The generator puts out around 14-16 amps. after the cutout kicks in. Everything on the car is 6 volts.

KNOWN DEFECTS:

The only known defect is the paint issue, andI do not have the keys to the passenger's door and trunk lit.

Since I have no control on how the car will be driven and cared for I have to sell the car AS IS WHERE IS.

The car is available for inspection at anytime, If a potential buyer is from out of the area the nearest commercial airport is in Savannah, GA. which is 45 miles from Beaufort, SC. With enough time notice I couldbe available to pick you up and return you to the airport.

The car comes with the original hand crank, a blue BEVERLY HILLS car cover, a brown spare tire cover, an original Model A jack (no handle) and If I can find it an original Ford Model A grease gun. It is somewhere in by shop, still looking.

The following publications are included with the car:
