Description

This 1973 Ford Bronco Explorer has just undergone a complete restoration. Nothing has gone untouched or overlooked on this truck.
It started life as a factory original, orange Explorer, 302, automatic. This truck was 99% rust free before it was stripped down to the tub. Like I said, nothing on this truck has been overlooked. Most of the parts are new and if they aren't new, they have been refinished to like new condition. Here is a short break down of the restoration.
Mechanical/Drivetrain: This truck is powered by its rebuilt factory original 302 v-8 and pushed by its rebuilt, original C4 automatic transmission. The engine was rebuilt prior to our ownership; however, we did take it back down to the block to verify. The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts smoothly. It has also been upgraded with a 2.5" Wild Horses premium suspension lift riding on new Mickey Thompson Classics 17x9 wheels wrapped in new 285/70/17 BFG K02 A/T tires. The brakes have been upgraded to Wild Horses power disc brakes up front and all new drums in the rear. There is no problem stopping this bronco. It steers easily with a new power steering set up as well. This truck is as mechanically solid as it is pretty. I have a parts list a page long if any serious parties would like to check it out. Basically, everything under the hood is new along with a lot of the steering/axle components.
Body/Paint: This truck came to us in original form; paint and body. The body was completely disassembled down to bare metal. Two very small spots of rust were cut out and repaired in the driver side floor pan. The undercarriage was pressure steamed and wire brushed clean and undercoated in 3M for protection. It was painted in PPG base/clear and cut and polished for a show finish. It is finished in a custom mix that is close to hot ginger metallic with a little more orange. It complements the interior very well. The hard top has been refinished in its factory Wimbledon white with a small touch of pearl. It is absolutely beautiful when the sun hits it. The fenders and rear quarters are wearing new Gorilla Warflares (fender flares).
Exterior/Trim: The body has received all new trim, body molding, bumpers, weather-stripping, handles, mirrors, door hinges, stainless window trim, door anti rattle kit, vent windows, grill trim, FORD grill emblem, Bronco script emblems, windshield wipers, lights, lenses etc.
Interior: The interior looks as good as the exterior. The factory seats were dismantled, media blasted and painted. The seats received all new foam and factory original style Explorer seat upholstery. The new door and rear quarter panels compliment the seats and are correct to the Explorer trim package. The floors, inside of doors and wheel wells have been sound proofed with Dynamat, which makes a HUGE difference. The dark saddle carpet accents the seats and door panels well and has custom matching Bronco script floor mats. The door panels and rear seat have received new arm rests as well. The new Retrosound radio looks original yet has Bluetooth and handsfree capabilities. The sound comes from two speakers under the rear seat in a custom speaker box. The steering column has been restored and fitted with a new factory correct steering wheel and horn button. Other new miscellaneous items on the interior; door check straps, carpet hold downs, firewall cover, glove box "Explorer" emblem, transfer case boot, glove box liner, shift indicator and temperature gauge.
I can't say enough about how nice this truck turned out. It really turns heads. I am available about anytime from 8 am-9 pm MST and able to show the truck with an appointment. I can be reached at 307-752-6033. I have over 100 pictures of the build and am happy to share them with serious parties. There's a fun video on YouTube if you want to check it out; search for the VIN number (U15GLS00589).Thanks again for looking and have a great day!
