Description

This is a Very Rust free East Texas Car. 89,xxx original miles, Runs and Drives, I purched this in east texas and drove it 1,675 mile to Richmond, VA. The car has the original 351 Cleveland with 2bl, Power steering, power brakes, Working A/C that blows cold air and heater system, up graded full display dash cluster with tach, oil pressure, water temp, amps and clock. It Needs to be painted. That why the front end was taken apart originally. The windshield is cracked and needs to be replaced ( aftermarket windshields are available for it $ 250 installed) . I have new clips for the front window molding, The stiching in the headliner is bad and needs to be repaired or replaced, as will as the carpet and steering box. I replaced front bench seat with 2 bucket seats. The driver side bucket does have a crack in it but its very useable as is, the passenger side is fine. I installed the correct gran torino floor console and transmission tunnel and installed an a original automatic floor shifter with all ford wiring harnesses. Sport dash cluster with Tach, Oil pressure,Water temp, Amp meter and Clock. All work except the clock you can't set time very eazy by knob. The steering column was replace with a non-column shift column, The dash pad is in good condition with no cracks or splits and has been repainted. All the door panels are very good condition, except the chrome ribbon trim is peeling off, but the panels have no other damage. The rest of the interior trim is in good conidition, I have the correct color spray dye to repaint panels as needed. The wagon is now the Sport model ford never made, but should of for Dad. It also has a new after market stereo that has been install, it needs rear speakers to be complete.
The Original 351C 2bl, now with correct ford cast iron 4bl manifold and holley 650cfm carb. I put a Hi-output CJ air cleaner on it with 351C 4bl. logo. The chrome is ok for its age, the air cleaner bottom is correct and the vacuum line are setup correctly too ( Needs a PVC elbow ). It has a New alternato, wiring harnesses, the power steering pump was cleaned, painted correctly and works fine ( Has all new belts ) I detailed engine bay ( very dirty now) has new vintage wires and spark plugs, the battery tray and all hoses are new. The radiator was cleaned, flushed and painted. It does need a good tune-up and dial in the the holley carb. The car is duel exhaust and I have Hooker Headers for it that need to be installed that I paid $400 for. The Gas tank was in excellent shape but was removed, to cleaned and sealed the tank and reinstalled (the gas gauge works correctly) Its got new universal joints (front and rear), New rear end pinion seal ( Has 9" rear end ),The transmission a FX trans and a new transmission rear seal, New rear shocks, New rear bushings and the the control arms in the rear were boxed in and welded to improve sway, have new front shocks not installed. The power steering control box is leaking fluid and the seals are shot. It needs to be rebuilt or replaced ( $120 for remanufactured).
The car body is in very good condition. All the doors and tailgate are free of rust and have no body damage. All the door jams, sills and pillers are good shape. The doors close fine and fit well for 1972 car fit up. The door window glass is ok, but some has scracthes in the glass from sand I assume. The rear tailgate is a magic tailgate but the magic is not working on the drop side, it only open like a car door out ! All the car trim is complete and most is in good condition and all the mount clips have been saved and are good. The GT hood is complete with inner grills and close off covers and cast scoop grill insert, The hood itself does have rust in it on the inner hood support structure. I got it from a local junk yard. The top of the GT's hoods skin is fine and has no rust but there are minor dings and dents on it, For me the minor pin hole on the underside of the hood were not show stopper. I have the original hood which is rust free and in very good condition that go's with the car. The cars rear quarters and inner fender wells are in very good condition. There is one very minor dings on the size of a quarter along the body. On the passenger side where the spare tire well is there was a few pin holds on the very bottom of the tire well, and there' s a dent on the side about 6"-8" long, minor, but no rust. The front passenger side fender had a old bond repair which was corrected. The front end caps are good, front top nose has very very minor dings in as well as the lower valance. All the bracing is good and not bent or damaged. I did not spend a lot of time with the front fit-up and alignment knowing the front would need be taken part again.
The front headlight buckets are in great shape with new bulbs and the headlight chrome bezels are very nice with very little to no pitting and nice chrome. the front bumper is in excellent condition and has been rechromed. The rear bumper had a few dents in and was straighten and rechromed. All the aluminum side trim and molding is complete and very straight. some have been cleaned up and repainted with argent silver and black. I know the pictures arent great and I appologize for that. I'm selling this call because I have health issues and cant work on it anymore. Feel free to sent questions. I have assembled the car except for side trim to help you better see the car.
The car also has the original build sheet, original window sticker, original owner warranty indentification card, original owners manual, original warranty facts sheet and other original documents when purchased new from the ford dealer. Thanks for looking its a great car and becoming very rare.
