Simply stated, this 1948 Ford F-1 is the best of the best. The very first year for Ford’s F-Series “Bonus-Built” pickups that would live on to become an enduring modern-day industry legend, this example has been in my collection since I purchased it at top dollar from a well-known Midwestern dealer shortly after the total nut-and-bolt, body-off restoration was completed about eight years ago. While under my care in the ensuing years, it has never seen a rain drop and has been religiously run on a regular basis to keep it lubed and limber.
Like the rest of the cars in my collection, it has been “over-maintained” with frequent oil changes and twice-yearly hand waxing. It has never failed to start instantly and run 100% reliably and as such, I wouldn’t hesitate to use it as a daily driver if it wasn’t such a mint-condition museum piece. Aside from a 12-volt electrical system and a spectacular airbrushed patriotic mural hidden on the underside of the hood, the truck is completely original. With the actual mileage since restoration believed to be less than 100, it’s a turnkey show winner.
Very few original F-1s of this caliber ever hit the market so inspection is strongly encouraged. Shipping of course is the buyer’s responsibility but I will assist in any way reasonably possible. New Jersey Title in my name. Dealers are welcome, however I will not end auction early.
