Description

Ford hit it out of the park when they designed the first gen Mustangs. They were successful and started a revolution because they were great looking cars that were fun to drive. Add a drop-top to the mix and the fun factor goes up even further. Spring is just around the corner, so now is the time to come on down and check this car out. You may decide that this is the car everyone will be seeing you in... this summer. Black and chrome is always a good look. Add a white roof complimented by a white stripe outlining the cove down the side of the car and it looks even better. Up front, a pencil thin front bumper underlines the grill with the iconic galloping Mustang in the center. It is flanked by fog lights trimmed in chrome shrouded beneath the front edge of that long hood with the blinker indicators that the driver can see tucked into it. The headlights are set back into the fenders which have a GT badge on them. The stainless trimming the windows shines nicely as do the splashes of flash from the door handles, mirrors, wheel wells, rockers and trunk rack. The back of the car has those 3 element taillights trimmed in chrome that are still a defining feature, even on new Mustangs. Between them is a GT gas cap and beneath them is another simple and clean looking bumper. Open the door, or just look inside if the roof is down, and you will find a black interior with splashes of chrome that complement the paint. The door panel has a pleated center section trimmed out with thin chrome piping and a comfortable armrest that's nice while cruising down the road. The upholstery is all in great shape and looks sharp. The front buckets are nice and comfortable with pleated seating surfaces and smooth side bolsters. A two spoke steering wheel is vinyl wrapped with a wood tone treatment and a Mustang center. A Hurst T-handle shifter for the manual transmission rises from the center console and there is a Kenwood head unit is mounted just in front of it with Sony speakers in the doors for your listening pleasure. A deep dash shrouds the stock instrument cluster from the sun nicely with the speedometer on the left, factory tach on the right, and engine gauges across the top. Pop the hood and you will find one of the most desirable engines to have in a Mustang, the 289 V8. It is completely stock and is nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. The air cleaner assembly has an orange sticker with racing flags announcing it as the 289 Hi Performance engine. It feed fresh air to a 4-barrel carb which sends the mixture out through a stock intake manifold and cylinder heads, then out through stock exhaust manifolds to dual Dynomax free flow mufflers. Cobra Ford valve covers in black and brushed aluminum look great and the engine iron is nicely painted in Ford Blue. Signs of good regular maintenance include Fomoco belts and hoses, a factory power steering pump, newer plugs, wires and cap and a fresh battery. Front disc brakes provide good stopping power and the rubber meets the road through 205/70R14 tires all around mounted on steel wheels with GT hub caps. Imagine yourself rolling down the road, top down in this car. Are you heading somewhere in particular? Or just out for a cruise? Remember, Not all who wander are lost. Come on down, check this car out, and turn that vision into reality.
