Description

The 1940 Ford Club Coupe is already an icon of the street rod scene. So when you find one already built to include great custom details, an upgraded suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and serious supercharged V8 power, then you know this is the legend that was made to own the asphalt. The '40 Ford coupe had one of the best looks of the era with a tapered front end, long rear deck, and fenders that took the time... to show off their rounded curves. It's this classily sleek look that keeps them in demand for the custom car scene. It's also why they invested nicely in this steel-bodied coupe. The front bumper forks let you really see the deep dive of the grille, and the expertly deleted rear bumper showcases the pure art of this classic. Plus, there are a ton of great details, like the frenched headlights, custom taillights, glossy burgundy paint highlighted by deleted trim and door handles, and Weld racing wheels with a 14/15 inch front/rear stagger for an aggressive stance. And of course, the louvered hood with the large air grabber sticking out of the top announces this has some serious street machine power (more on that in a moment.) The interior showcases a thoughtful build. The exterior burgundy returns and now it's intermingled with white for a custom two-tone look seen over every inch. We especially like the look of how the tuck and roll of the seat inserts match the doors, and there's plenty of contrasting piping throughout. But more than just custom, you also get the great vintage feeling with the classic Ford dual-spoke steering wheel, and beyond that, the factory gauges are still on display in the art deco dash. Just below that you see more investments in making this a great well-rounded classic. It includes provisions for R134a air conditioning and a backup camera that comes with the sale. And there's all the right auxiliary readouts to keep an eye on the monster that lives under the hood. The power of this coupe can barely be contained â€" that's why the grabber is sticking out of the hood! And when you open this up, it really has the look of a proper street rod, right down to the Mickey Thompson valve covers. Most people will be impressed with just the Weiand 671 supercharger force-feeding the 350 cubic-inch V8, but this one steps up the power even more. There are dual Holley four-barrel carburetors and headers that feed the dual exhaust. So it has that great mix of exhaust rumble and supercharger buzz that tells people you're bringing serious power to the streets. And because you're a serious machine, control has been upgraded with features like a Mustang II-style tubular A-arm front suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. They even rebuilt the three-speed automatic transmission and rear end in 2015 to keep this powerful custom feeling solid. The sale comes with maintenance records and a car cover. This is the steel-bodied Ford that has all the right custom features. So if you love iconic looks and serious power, call today!
