Description

There are plenty of pickups that have been upgraded for work and play. But this restored 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT 4x4 has just been given the right touches so you can have a low mileage, numbers-matching classic, that still does everything you need and looks great doing it. In the 70s, the Ranger designated as an upgraded and very stylish trim package, and as such, this one wears a lot of extra trim. Additions on the... exterior include rocker moldings that wrap up and continue to the wheel opening moldings, stainless body line moldings, and an ornate tailgate. Covered in an updated clearcoat version of its factory-correct Dark Blue Metallic, this Ranger is stunning under our showroom lights. Complimenting the chrome work and paint are two bright chrome bumpers that are in good shape. Out back, the bed is painted the same blue as the exterior and is shows virtually no abuse. Plus, the locking Delta toolbox is perfect to neatly and securely store your gear. Open the door and you'll again see plenty of upgrades. It starts with the leather seats borrowed from a '96 F-series, so you now know these are exceptionally more comfortable than the '70s bench. The Ranger trim level means this one also has nice wood accents as well as some highly desirable options like air conditioning. While all of it keeps this premium pickup looking highly original, one very welcomed modern upgrade is AM/FM/CD stereo, so this '70s classic can play more than just disco. Under the hood is the real secret to this pickup's success. This is the numbers-matching 351 cubic-inch V8, and it's only averaged less than 2,100 miles per year so far. But as nice as it is to have this low mileage optional original motor under the hood, this F-150 has also been given the right upgrades to keep it working hard. It's been upgraded to a four-barrel carburetor for more power; and it's backed up be a Summit radiator. That also means a lot more low-end power, and that's something that's always welcomed on a big wheeled four-wheel drive truck. In fact, this one was built to be taken off road if desired, with a Dana 44 front axle, limited slip in the rear, and leveling coils from the 4x4 experts at James Duff. Even the automatic transmission was upgraded for serious off-road use. Plus, the power steering, front disc brakes, and BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires will serve you nicely whether you're going up a hill, or driving on the car show lawn. This restored F-150 is ready for the trail, but you could just spend your weekends showing it off too. It even comes with plenty of documentation, including the window sticker and warranty info. You couldn't build or restore a truck this nice for the cost of this one. Call today!!
