MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present a 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 Fastback Tribute. This car has a 289 CID V-8 under its hood, highlighted by a Cobra air cleaner over a Holley 4160 carburetor, a Weiand intake manifold, blue Ford Motorsports valve covers and four-in-one headers. The engine is buttoned to a Ford C4 three-speed automatic transmission.

This white pony car with blue LeMans stripes on its hood, roof and back deck appears to have high-quality paint job and is in excellent condition with a bright luster and only extremely subtle, minor imperfections. Car has blue GT350 rocker stripes and out back, the Cobra GT350 logo appears on the fuel-filler cap.

Inside, the car features multiple new items – door panels, weather stripping on the doors, carpet, front bucket seats and chrome side trim, door sills and jambs, armrests and a trunk mat. The only original interior items are the headliner, dashboard and back seat. The steering wheel sports a wooden rim with the Cobra GT350 logo in the center and Carroll Shelby’s autograph covers the glovebox door. Car comes with working speedometer, tachometer, fuel and oil pressure gauges but the horn is inoperable. This ponycar rides on Dunlop G/T Qualifier tires and American Racing Equipment aluminum five-star 15″ five-lug wheels.

The owner mentioned above had the transmission converted from manual to automatic after he contracted a condition that left him unable to depress the clutch pedal. A B&M Z-gate ratchet shifter sets atop the transmission tunnel. After the owner passed away in 2004, the car was carefully stored until 2013, when his grandson drove it for a year before selling it.

Examples of this car’s competition in 1965 include the Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder Coupe, Chevrolet II Nova SS Sport Coupe, the Plymouth Barracuda and to a lesser degree, the Studebaker Avanti.

On April 17, 1964, the Mustang was introduced to the public at the World’s Fair in New York. Before the day was over, Ford had secured 22,000 orders for the vehicle at dealerships across the country. The Mustang created the ponycar category, was considered an instant hit with consumers then and continues to be a hit today! GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

Current mileage on the odometer shows 31,964 miles and is actual mileage. It is sold as is and on an actual mileage box A Arizona title.
