1967 Ford Fairlane GT Convert 390 ci 4 speed S Code Marti Report Numbers Match
Description
1967 Ford Fairlane GT S-Code Convertible. 1 of 447 made. 390 Big Block and a top loader 4 speed. Originally a California car and was solid front to back before we started the restoration. All original sheet metal. Includes Marti Report. Matching Numbers 390 335HP 4 Barrel engine with original top loader 4 speed. Motor, Trans were removed from car and rebuilt. Shifter sent to rebuilt facility in Michigan and she shifts like new. Complete new front end (every part in poly urethane), clutch, pressure plate and flywheel, brakes all the way around, lines etc. basically a complete mechanical restoration to make her safe and reliable. (Got to be able to take the grand kids safely out for a ride). Undercarriage and engine compartment thoroughly cleaned and painted. All bodywork was done on car and a fresh original Candy Apple Red paint job put on as she came from the factory. No she is not totally original (Edlebrock carb and headers) or perfect (not a $15k paint job and some pitted chrome) but I wanted a nice driver and that she is. Have put about 700 miles on her since completion and she runs and handles like new and stops on a dime. Will need a top in the future but the only time I take her out is on nice days so it's not high on my priority list. Crusing is! Everything in the car works. except the radio and clock. All lights, horn, blinkers heat controls etc. work like new. Paint is a 5 footer or as they say 7 out of 10! Interior is extremely nice. This is a rare find! The last one sold (it was nicer than mine) at Mecum last year went for 85k with buyers premium. I like cars I can drive. And this car is a pleasure to drive! Not dragged around on a trailer! You will love this piece of history as well! And yes, I know it has 66 hood inserts. I think the 67 design is ugly and they were changed to 66. Date coded replacements are $160 on ebay. Yes, this car is for sale locally and it is sold as is. Running and driving great! Price is a little negotiable thus the make offer option. All I can say is no! lol
