Description

For Sale is my 1989 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX hatchback. 1989 wasFord Mustang's 25th Anniversary.

The original owner had the car 26 years, until 2015. When it was sold at his estate's auction. I acquired it in 2018 from the buyer. All the work done to the car, was by its original owner. The car has had one paint job. It is an original white 5.0 car with red interior. Very clean, no rust and a straight body. Good glass and window tint. Nice stance. Its original owner and builder, took good care of it, until his death. I did not know him.

Evidently, he wanted a fast, stealthy sleeper. Not a track car, but it could be. The car hides its horsepower and abilities, very well. It has five-lug Saleen 17" staggered width wheels, newer tires, larger front disc brakes and front coil overs. It has a stronger, lightweight tubular K member and A arms, Stiffler brand universal cross member. Adjustable caster/camber plates. Subframe stiffeners and upper and lower control arms, forimproved traction. The 8.8 rear has 3.27 gears and 31 spline axles. A modified 4R75w automatic trans, shift kit, 2800 converter with lock up. Has a Quick Shift controller which is laptop tunable.Carhas two separate USB hookups for the engine and trans.tuning. "Tuner Studio" (free download off their internet site) is used with thecar's Micro Squirt ECU. Car has been kept on its current conservative 91 octane tune. The one the original builder gave it.And it performs extremely well, as is. I am not a computer guy or a tuner, so I have left it alone. More than enough power for me. Car has only had approximately 500 miles put on it, since bought at the estate salein 2015. And 300 miles of that was driving it home.

A high capacity cooling system...with large core alum. radiator, twin puller high volume fans, is thermostatically controlled and keeps temps low. Hydraulic hood lift struts makes things easier. Additional gauges, include digital AFR (Wideband 02 for better tunability)and LED Boost readouts. Also a large LED gear position readout, on the trans. controller, so you know which gear you are in or need to be.

The original interior is very nice. Comes with new, color matching front sport seats. Power Steering. Heat works.AC is deleted, but could be re-installed, if so desired. Wipers and all lights work properly. Car is currently licensed, insured and road legal for me in my state. Car's TX title is in my name, clear and inhand.

Engine has low miles.Ford Boss four-bolt block, stroked to 331 cubic inches. Canton deep sump pan. Full studs and roller rockers. Fed by alarge 400 lph intank fuel pump. New aluminum heads. Typhoon intake. Larger fuel rails and 60 lb. injectors. Trick Flow Stage 1roller cam, hardened pushrods. On-3 Turbo kit. Larger 73mm turbo and intercooler, quality blow-off valve, heat wrapped pipes, all stainless exhaust from passenger side header back to factory style exhaust tips. Quiet exhaust, with exhaust cut-out if needed.

Car is not for the weak of heart or unprepared or those not mechanically inclined. Its very powerful. As I said, currently tuned for 91 octane pump gas, so it is easier to drive, than if made more powerful by adding boost. I was told it's currently making over 500 rear wheel horsepower, at 12 psi boost. I have owned fast cars and this one is very fast. Its engine cranks and idles perfectly. Capable of much more power, if tuned on race fuel and at 18psi boost.

Car is very drivable if not always "floored" and when driven correctly. It is fine intown and will cruise at 70-80mph on highway, no problem. Can go anywhere a stock Mustang will go. Doesn't overheat.

This is someone's dream car. The builder did it right. Turbo Fox body Mustangs are very popular. Why spend lots of time and money finding a good car and then modifying it, when you can buy one done, for less. Good luck bidding.
