1969 Mach 1 Mustang Nicely Optioned Runs Good
Description
1969 Mach 1 factory white with black hood (code M5) with red interior (code 3D). I have a Marti Report for this Mach 1. This car came with power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, 351 4 barrel (code M), AM radio, 9 inch rear with 3.00 gears (code 6), FMX automatic transmission (code X) and tinted glass. A prior owner changed the interior color to black from original red and installed a 1970 351 Cleveland 2V heads with Edelbrock 4V aluminum intake and 4 barrel Holley. Someone also installed an aftermarket AMFM which does not work. No headers and nice and tight dual exhaust. The factory VIN, buck and door tags are still on the car.
This Mach 1 runs good (see video link). Interior is very nice including door panels and original carpet. Motor is quiet with a no leak dual exhaust. I have only driven this car in a circle and it shifted tight (see video). The body is pretty solid except peeling paint and some craking bondo in the passenger rear original quarter. Other spots like driver door handle and lower rockers have peeling paint but NO rust through. Paint will need to be striped on this classic. Frame rails and shock towers are good. Both torque boxes have some rust, but floor supports are good and original. Trunk has some rust through on outer corners. Doors have some corner patches and are very usable. Trunk floors are good as are rear frame rails. The passenger floors are good and original, but driver floors are rusted out and someone placed new floor pans over the holes without welding them in place. Doors close perfectly and windshield is a perfect Ford Carlite but not the factory original. Driver door glass is unglued. Headliner has a seam apart above the back seat. This Mach starts easy but this car needs work before driving on the road. It will need a new gas tank, fuel pump, air cleaner, fan shroud, brake work, tires and general service. It steers good and feels good and sounds sweet. The drive train is solid and interior is ready to enjoy. Dash has a cover on it so it looks nice. It has the original quarters, but they both have lower rear patches that seem to be holding up after many years. Someone replace both front engine compartment aprons, but did not finish welding the spot welds where they drilled them out---not a difficult job at all. Shock towers look very nice. Power steering seems to leak fluid fast while sitting...probably a hose. It had louvers and rear spoiler, but now just the holes, I got it without those cool items. Front spoiler is good. Lights are mostly working. This car I think sat for 10 years or more. Headlight and rim blow horn work, but heater blower motor does not. Some interior lights work. It rained hard yesterday and the front carpets are dry so cowl is not rusted out. The matching left front Goodrich tire has a side wall hole so I placed 14x6 magnum up there for Ebay--you will get the matching 14x7 Ford magnum.
With some love this well optioned Mach will be awesome. I have too many projects so I am letting her go. Call me for more details...Rick (301) 237-8360 cell. I reserve the option to cancel this auction since this car is advertised locally. Clean title. Sold as is. Thanks
