1928 Ford Model A 2 door sedan street rod rat rod high boy deuce gasser hot rod
Description
This is a very cool hot rod that is a 12 year old build but made to look like an original old hot rod.
Body is all metal and very straight. The roof is chopped 4". Floor pans are all new. The top has been filled in with wood and is ready for the new reproduction factory style padded leatherette roof that comes with the car, or you can fill it in with metal, that you can purchase pre-made now. All of the glass is new and is green tinted. There is no back glass yet. All of the interior trim garnish moldings are included. The paint is fresh but was made to look old. The dash is painted metal flake green. The seat is new green metal flake vinyl. The steering wheel and shift knob are vintage green metal flake. All windows roll up and down as they should. The front windshield flips out as it should. Front grille is from a 1932 Ford Truck. Radiator is a new Walker and is made of "real copper". Engine runs very cool. Taillights are from an old Ford car 36 or 46? Head lights are from a 1934 Ford truck and have the turn signals inside of the lens.
Chasis is a new boxed 1932 Ford frame from Speedway Motors. Up front it has a 4" dropped super bell front axle that has been drilled with holes. Spindles are from a 1933 Ford. Drum brakes are from a 1950 Ford truck. Vega steering box. Mustang master cylinder. Steering column is of unknown make and model, but it is old. Out back it is running a 9" Ford, 3:25 gears, no posi, Moser 31 spline axles, Springs by Posey. It also comes with a complete disc brake conversion kit for the front axle, but I like the old school drum set up and it stops just fine.
Drive line is a 1976 Ford 390 big block with 2 GC Rochester tri-power. All carbs work with progressive linkage. It was bored 40 over. Has a Comp high energy cam, 1969 vintage dual plane aluminum intake. Custom made zoomie headers with custom baffles. Sounds great and not too loud. Trans is a 1975 C-4 with a 2200 Stahl converter and a shift kit. It also has an old blow proof drag racing bell housing.
Tires are brand new Coker wide whites.
Very cool old hot rod, street rod, rat rod, gasser, high boy, that you immediately cruise in.
I know I am forgetting something, but you get the drift. Very nice old hot rod that can be driven anywhere as is with respect, or it can be taken to the next level with shinny paint, full interior, and more chrome.
