Description

69 Mach 1 Fastback with recently tuned (timing, carburetor and idle) 408 Stroker engine on 351 Windsor with racing cam, brand new MSD ignition system, recently rebuilt 5 speed manual transmission and rear differential, brand new Holley carb, brand new power steering, brand new 3-core aluminum radiator with electric fan, electronic choke. My mechanic says the engine is around 400hp at the flywheel but I have never dyno'ed it. New front disk and rear drum brakes. Very aggressive muffler. Vinyl interior, dashboard cover and working gauges. Lighted aviation switches to control fan and 2 other accessories. Stripped, sanded and repainted in black gloss last year (no rust evident). Custom oversized hood scoop with mesh grille, fastback louvres and correct spoiler. 18" Torque Thrust replica wheels, with 9's in front and 10's in rear. Premium bluetooth/LED monitor stereo system with dual amps and tube subwoofer. I also have a box of upgrades, including a Demon carburetor (for drag racing), stainless steel radiator hose, woven steel hose covers and upgraded fuse box.
Now the bad stuff: there is a tiny oil leak, 1 drop every week or so. The suspension is for drag racing so it is a bit stiff. Paint and chrome trim have some imperfections and blemishes. The headliner has some tears and vinyl seat covers could use some refreshing. Driver side window crank needs tightening. Clock runs but keeps terrible time. The trunk lock is loose but still works. I'm not certain if the odometer reading is accurate for the rebuilt engine. The tires are not sticky enough for the car's horsepower and torque. I have no MARTI report and this car is clearly not concourse. Finally, because of the racing cam, it does take a bit more effort to drive on the streets.
Overall this car always starts and always runs, even on cold mornings. It is beautiful and car show ready. I have spent a lot of money getting this car up to running and presentable condition.I have been as honest as I can in describing the car, warts and all. I have been scouring eBay for weeks looking for a comparable car, and most of what I have found near this price point have been coupes or cars that still need a lot of work.
Car is available for local inspection.
