Description

1973 Ford F350 Ranger LXT Super Camper Special

This '73 F350 has 22,670 original miles confirmed with Virginia State DMV and features the venerable 390 (6.4L) Big Block Ford FE Engine, as well as asmooth shifting C6 transmission and features a 2WD arrangement. The rear end is the heavy duty Dana 70 with 4.10 gears. The big Ford is fully optioned with power steering, power brakes, A/C and intermittent wipers.

"Ford started by increasing the wheelbase to an astounding 140 inches on a narrower eight-inch-tall, one-ton frame, with a single Dana 70 full-floating rear axle and twin I-beam front. Available only as a two-wheel drive single cab, the extended wheelbase made for a stable, better-riding truck with less camper intrusion, which eliminated the space normally reserved for the spare behind the rear axle. Ford fixed this with a secret compartment and detachable body panel on the passenger side of the bed for spare tire storage." -Thom Taylor, Hagerty

Recently fitted new carbs, a new air filter, new cap and rotor, new plugs and wires, new fuel pump and filter and reconditioned the intake manifold, new radiator hoses, new radiator, new thermostat, new water pump, new brake calipers, new brake lines, new brake rotor, new wheel hubs and bearings, new tires and finally a fresh oil change with filter! What I'm trying to say here is all of the maintenance is up to date on critical systems.

As I present the good, I must also share with you the items that the next owner can choose to address at his/her leisure.

The original fuel gauge/switch does not work. An aftermarket switch was installed poorly and caused some rust. The muffler does have a hole in it. The seat cover is torn and the dashboard has cracks in it. The forward fuel tank (yes there are two) leaks from the top/filler neck. The A/C compressor is currently seized however the system is complete! The driver's dome light switch doesn't work. The battery hold down strap is missing. The window tracks should be lubricated and some paint is peeling on the truck. Come on out, check out the truck and let's make a deal.
