1966 Mustang A Code Convertible, Auto, Coilover Front Suspension
Description
Beautiful 1966 Mustang Convertible289 4V "A" Code Automatic.
- Originally delivered to California ... still has original California smog equipment, which is very rare. Easy to remove if desired but I decided to leave on when having engine dress up kit installed.
- Car has been updated with safety in mind as my wife and kids used the car in and around the Chicago area in the summer time.
- White power top ... very good condition. One minor blemish.
- Street and Track Front Coilover - drives like a modern contemporary car!

- Borgeson Power Steering Conversion for 65-66 Mustang with Power Steering.

- Kelsey Hayes Period Correct Front Disc Brakes, rear drum brakes.
- 1967 Dual Reservoir Master Cylinder ... 1965 and 1966 had single reservoir and FHA mandated change in 1967
- Collapsible tilt steering column ... FHA mandated collapsible steering columns in 1968.
- Real wood grain and stainless steering wheel from Tony Branda.
- Torque Thrust Rims and full size spare.
- Excellent condition Pony Interior with custom center console with Alpine Navigation head unit.
- Stereo: Alpine Navigation Head Unit, XM, Bluetooth media and mobile phone.
* Alpine amp, 2 trunk mounted 8 inch subs, * Hybrid Audio speakers in front and rear. * Nav unit is covered by a custom Pony leather cover so it isn't visible ... only volume nob is accessible through cover. * Stereo is as close to audiophile as you can get in a vintage mustang convertible and sounds excellent with top down. * Stereo components and install were about $7,000. * Original 8 track and original Ford door speakers are in place.
- Engine, transmission and driveline are stock and in very good condition and regularly serviced.
- Dual trumpet exhaust.
- When I had it repainted 10 years ago I left the badges off and put on subtle GT350 items ... Steering wheel, hood, lower front valance, side scoops and rear gas cap. I reverted it to more stock like trim after a few years. The only trim pieces that remain are the door sills and the engine dress up kit.
- I have the following that will come with the car (if I can find it all):
1) Original Rally Pac 2) Original Steering Wheel 3) Original Fog Light Kit 4) Front Suspension (not worth keeping) 5) Valve covers and air cleaner assembly. 6) Misc Trim Pieces 7) Original Trunk Lid with luggage rack.
- This car can be badged as either a standard Non-GT or Mustang GT very easily.
- I've owned the car for the past 13 years.
- It will be hard to find an old mustang that drives this well.
- I am not in a hurry to sell and prefer that car be seen by buyer or agent of buyer as I want buyer to be satisfied.
**** If you made it this far ... thanks for looking! If you are serious I am more than happy to discuss the vehicle in detail and answer any questions that you may have.
