1966 Ford Mustang, C code coupe, 289 engine, Edlebrock 4V carburetor, C4 automatic transmission, CPP modern integral power steering, ABS Power booster, Baer 4 wheel disc brake with black standard interior.
This beautiful RED Mustang has been completely taken apart and reassembled with everything replaced, new, rebuilt, or refurbished parts. Refurbished meaning cleaned and or media blasted to bare metal and repainted.
Engine and transmission have been rebuilt to a high performance spec with roller rockers. Driveshaft was balanced with new U-joints. 8 inch rear end is the only thing that was not taken apart. Nothing was done to the inside, it has only been cleaned and painted with the new disc brakes mounted. Regarding the engine, transmission, and timing cover, I removed by grinding and sanding down the mold marks, and lines to a smooth surface to make it look nice. The timing cover is an early style that has a front install seal.
Mustang is lowered with new coil springs cut down and new leaf springs re-arced to get an awesome looking stance and handling. All new suspension, CPP (6466CPP-K) upper and lower tubular control arms (Strut rods and rails were removed to accommodate this performance handling front suspension). The upper control arms have been lowered 1 inch like Shelby did (as seen in the photo).Engine cross member bolts with the lower control arms and has a jack pad for better strength. Drakes performance Elastomer spring saddles, KYB HD gas shocks, tie rods & sleeves, Baer Serious Street-Plus (4261015) brake system in all four corners makes this beauty stop on a dime.
Magnaflow mufflers are linked to an X-pipe, allowing the long tube headers to make this engine scream at wide open throttle, but still has a nice low volume when cruising.
Wheels are a classic-looking American Racing Torque Thrust, (17x7 and 17x8). Tires gripping this pony to the road is a nice set of Toyo Proxes, (225/45/ and 245/40). Tires do not rub the body, and the suspension does not bottom out on most driveways and speed bumps.
The bumping Pioneer stereo system is wired to Pioneer’s 6x9s in the rear and 5.25s in the front kick panels. Electrical wires are all new, front to rear.
Insulation was glued to the roof before the headliner was installed, to help keep the interior cooler and quieter along with a new firewall pad. Wheel wells, front and rear, including the outside of the inner fenders, have been sprayed with sound deadner undercoating to help give it a quieter ride. Interior floors were cleaned and degreased to remove all excess debris, and then painted with Por-15 rust preventive paint and spray painted black to help keep the floor from rusting along with installing premium underlayment under the carpet to help give it a quieter ride.
The grill is a new aftermarket billet style. (If for some reason you like the stock grill better, I will replace it at no cost). Moldings around the front and rear glass have been polished. Some new items include, but not limited to bumpers, windshield, dash pad, door panels, upholstery, disc brakes, wheels and tires, fuel tank and sender, all rubber seals and grommets, brake lines and hoses, suspension, springs, Edlebrock carburetor, carpet, and padded floor sound deadner.
The California body on this Mustang started out as a nice unmolested project, it retains its original body and it was not in any major crash. All gaps are properly aligned as I spent hours aligning the doors to make them close very nice with-out slamming.
This beautiful red on black Mustang sits nice, runs great, handles awesome, goes fast, and stops on a dime, all while turning heads. The 2-stage fire cracker red does show some minor imperfections if you look for them. Overall it’s a beautiful driver and shows extremely well. Over $25,000 was spent on parts to make this awesome 1966 Mustanga head turner. You will have lots of fun cruising this Pony to your favorite hot spot with your best friend and showing it off to your local PD, if you choose.
