Description

Here's you chance to but what is most likely a ONE-OFF Falcon. Magazine feature car, multiple show winner. As far as the Falcon Club can tell this is the only V6 Falcon they've come across. The car has a 2.8 V6, rebuilt T5 5 speed transmission super LOW MILEAGE, only 59K original miles. A really nice driving, solid 1964 Falcon Futura convertible. This was an export car as witnessed by the "94" in the DSO code, I believe it was shipped to Australia as a demo car and brought back to the US in 2001 by a collector who had it in his collection undriven. I bought it from him through a dealer/broker. The 170 six had been swapped out prior to my buying it for a 200 to make it what the Australians call a "Super Pursuit" model. The car has a load of enhancements that were mandatory for export models, factory headrests, full length chassis stiffeners, one-piece shock tower export brace, heavy duty suspension and seat belts. There was even factory wiring for the 64.5-65 Rally Pak which went missing sometime in the past. The speedometer was in kilometers and was swapped out for an american speedometer reset to the correct mileage. The original read 96K kilometers or about 56K miles. the original speedo comes with the car. Original door panels, armrests, bucket seats and floor console, carpeting was replaced sometime in the past.
The car is not a show car, and is priced as such. the car was repainted sometime in the distant past. the paint has some wear on it with some minor bubbling in the usual places but nothing catastrophic, no rust, no dents, undercarriage is solid as are the torque boxes . chrome is good, 4 brand new Goodrich 205 70 R14 RWL tires on new torque-thrust style rims, the blue is still covering the letters. Top is good with no tears or rips, plastic rear window is not cloudy, faded or scratched. The top goes up/down with no problems. All the glass is ok, windows go up/down fine, The weatherstripping on the top should be replaced as its dry and cracking.
When I got the car, rather then do the done-so-many-times V8 swap I decided to go with a "Cologne" 2.8 V6. from a 1974 Mustang II so I could retain the 4 bolt set-up. The engine runs great, has 50 PSI oil pressur, 120 PSI across all the cylinders, 20mg of vacuum at idle, brand new dual exhaust with turbo mufflers for a nice low healthy sound. The T5 was professionally rebuilt and shifts like butter. The clutch set up is an MDS hydraulic master cylinder with an internal hydraulic throw out bearing, new RAM clutch and pressure plate.Brand new Ididit tilt steering column. Brand new Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold with brand new Holley 390 CFM 4 barrel carb, brand new distributor with new spark plug wires, new starter motor. Custom-made aluminum valve covers. A new 80 amp alternator, new water pump, new aluminum radiator with 2000 CFM electric fan, never over heats even in the 100 + temps we've been getting lately, new battery and cables, a new Carter rotary vane electric fuel pump with regulator, gas tank was removed and cleaned, new fuel level sending unit. Brand new dual bowl master brake cylinder. I figure the engine is putting out between 130-150 HP which is almost the same as the 64-65 260 V8. It has plenty of power along with OVER 20MPG in-town.
The instrument panel has a new vacuum gauge and new fuel level gauge, a triple gauge mount is under the dash for volts/oil pressure and temp.
The car is not perfect which is why its not listed for $28000.00 . Ive been on Ebay for almost 20 years, over 3 thousand Five Hundred deals and a 100% positive feedback rating. I try to be as honest in my descriptions as possible, if you have any questions please contact me.
I can assist with shipping by meeting the trucker on I-25 near to where I live.
