1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Q code Cobra Jet (engine not correct) see videos
Description
1973 Ford Mustang fastback Mach 1 in very good condition, VIN shows it is a genuine Q code Mach 1 with 351c Cleveland Cobra Jet, unfortunately it does not have the original engine and has been replaced with a 5.0 engine, I know what your thinking but read on. California car has always been garaged currently located in Redwood City, Ca. I do not see rust anywhere, straight body painted a very nice jade green has nice gloss and depth but does have a couple of chips and cracks as shown in pics, the seats are not original but interior is in very good condition. 18" inch bullitt wheels with wide tires give it that cool pro touring retro-mod look, has front disk brakes, sport suspension shocks make it handle extremely well. Now for the fun part, it has a newer rebuilt 5.0 engine out of a 1988 Mustang GT, these engines are far superior to the muscle car era engines, these 5.0 engines are roller cam with forged aluminum pistons with valve reliefs, I installed SVO GT40p heads, a Weiand low rise/dual plane intake manifold with a Edelbrock 1406 4bbl carburetor, hei distributor, coupled to an automatic transmission with a manual shift kit enables you to shift the semi-automatic at the cars highest torque point. This engine is even faster than the original 351c Cobra Jet engine! The original did 0-60 in 8.5 and 1/4 mile in 16.2sec. the 5.0 does 0-60 in 6.8 and 1/4mile in 15.4 so isn't that what a muscle car is all about! The car is 43 years old and has some minor clunks and rattles but the car is extremely fun to drive, these engines with its high torque and smoother balance can easily light up the tires, accelerates hard and cruises at freeway speeds and with its headers and thrush mufflers gives it that awesome muscle car sound. The car is smog exempt so you can make whatever mods to the engine you want, find another cobra jet engine and car will be worth 50% more! Super low reserve, well below $10k.
