Description

I AM OFFERING FOR SALE THE 36TH 1961 FALCON MADE AT THE KANSAS CITY PLANT. RED TWO DOOR WITH 144 6 CLY AND 3 SPEED ON THE COLUMN TRANS. WAS DRIVEN UNTIL 1976. PARKED UNDER A CARPORT WITH 127K MILES AND CLUTCH ISSUE. TURNED INTO ONE OF THOSE I'LL FIX IT UP ONE DAY CARS. PURCHASED BY A USED CAR DEALER/RESTORER (LOTS OF BONDO AND RESALE RED PAINT). BEEN SITTING IN A BACK LOT FOR 20 YEARS. I BOUGHT IT TO SAVE IT FROM THE CRUSHER.

CAR CONDITION WISE IS FAR FROM PERFECT. FLOOR PANS RUSTY, BOTTOM OF DOORS, TRUNK SEAMS, LOWER QUARTERS AND AROUND WHEEL OPENINGS, TOP OF PASSENGER SHOCK TOWER, HOOD HINGE AREA AND TRUNK LID. NOT BAD AND HIGHLY FIXABLE. ANOTHER GOOD POINT IS IT IS ABOUT 98% COMPLETE. MISSING FLYWHEEL, DOOR HANDLES AND A FEW MINOR TRIM PARTS. GREAT ROOF AND GLASS. NO SANDING SCRATCHES. GLASS GOOD EVEN ORIGINAL WINDSHIELD. ALL DATE CODES MATCH EXCEPT REPLACED PASSENGER DOOR. FRAME RAILS DECENT. MAY NEED SOME PATCHES WHEN CLEANED. CAR HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED. DRIVERS FENDER REPLACE (NO RUST). FRONT BUMPER TWEAKED. HAVE ANOTHER CLEAN REAR BUMPER.
DOORS ALL OPEN AND SHUT. HOOD AND DECK LID BAD BUT STILL OPENS AND CLOSED. GREAT ROOF WITH NO RUST OR DENTS. BLACK RUBBER FLOOR MAT. SEATS RECOVERED IN SEARS AND ROBUCK MAIL ORDER COVERS. BACK SEAT FRAMES POOR. FRONT DRIVERS SPLIT BENCH SOLID AND SHOULD NEED MINIMAL WORK. BRAKES REMOVED TO MAKE IT ROLL EASIER. TIRES HOLD AIR AND CAN BE PUSHED AROUND. GAS TANK REMOVED. MOTOR CONDITION UNKNOWN. ORIGINAL RADIATOR WITH GOOD BATTERY BOX.

I ESTIMATE ABOUT 500 HOURS AND $6000 TO RESTORE TO NEAR ORIGINAL STATE. MAINLY A MATTER OF TAKING APART AND CLEANING. NOT MANY OPTIONS OR PARTS TO REPLACE. WOULD MAKE A GREAT STARTER CAR FOR FATHER AND SON PROJECT.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO RESTORE A CAR, YOU MIGHT AS WALL FIX UP ONE WITH A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORICAL VALUE. FIRST DAY PRODUCTION CARS HOLD MORE COLLECTIBLE THAN LATER CARS.

WILL DELIVER TO MOST STATES FOR GAS MONEY. ALL QUESTIONS WELCOME.
SOLD WITH BILL OF SALE. TITLE CAN BE APPLIED FOR UNDER SECTION 8.01 VEHICLE CODE IN LOUISIANA ONLY.

COULD DELIVER FOR GAS MONEY. MY E350 VAN GETS ABOUT 10 MPG.
