Description
I am listing this very presentable 68000 documented, original miles 1966 Mustang Coupe for a friend. The car has been in dry storage for the past 15 years. The car was to be a father and son restoration project over a period of time, but the father became ill and the son drove the car just over 600 miles during the previous 2 years before the son lost interest after his dad's health failed. Recently the car came out of storage and is now for sale. The car has an inline 6 cylinder motor and an automatic transmission, the motor and trans. were gone through by a local garage 17 years ago, along with new shock absorbers on all 4 corners, new brake lines and new brake shoes and wheel cylinders. Well, after sitting in the garage for all that time, the brakes needed done again. The car has recently had a lot of mechanical work done, new fuel pump, new water pump, new carburator, new battery, new fuel tank, new wheel cylinders, new brake shoes, one new brake drum, new heater core, new hoses, new tune up. The car is now road worthy, the motor starts on a quarter turn and runs and idles perfect. no smoke, no lifter noise the car rides and drives very nice. The steering components are all tight with no excessive play in the steering. The exhaust is solid and quiet from manifold to the rear bumper. The trans shifts smooth with no issues, the trans fluid is blood red. The body is solid with solid floor pans, the interior is the factory original, headliner, seat covers, floor console and carpet. The oroginal glass is clear and clean with no chips, or wiper marks. All the lights work, the horn works, the heater works, the wipers work, the fuel gauge is the only thing that doesn't work, needs a new sending unit. The air cleaner is not on the carburetor, only to show there is a new carb, but it is on the carb. this time. This is not a high performance show car, but rather a very nice and solid original adult owned and driven classic car that hasn't been beat to death and driven who knows how many hundreds of thousand miles. The car has been well mantained and garage kept over the years. The Indiana title is free and clear in the owners name.
