Stock #: V18740 Exterior Color: Medium Blue Interior Color: Blue Body Type: Fastback Transmission: 4 Speed Engine: 302 Boss Title Condition: Clear I am very excited about this car. It was born as you see it with a long list of factory options and great factory colors. 1 owner 25 years, #s match throughout. Documented with Marti report, original invoice, build sheet and letter from Ford!
EXTERIOR: Born this way- sharp looking medium blue metallic with shaker hood, spoiler, Magnum 500 wheels and window slats! Most the time those features get added later. Overall it shows really well. Stand next to the car and it is show quality. Look closely and you will find some minor imperfections. It's a very original car that's probably only been repainted once. The body is very clean and straight, panels fit very nicely. You can see the factory spot welds around the rear wheel wells. The front wheel well lips are folded in, correct for a Boss because of the 15 inch wheels. Has all the correct Boss striping. Original glass, chrome is all good. Grill area, tail panel area are clean original. Very nice door jambs. Original weatherstrips, under the doors still show factory primer. The 15 inch Magnum wheels and BFGoodrich tires look new. Great looking car!
INTERIOR: Also born as you see it- medium blue with stereo 8-track, tilt wheel, tachometer, clock, console, intermittent wipers and convenience group (auto seat release, extra lighting). Very well preserved mostly original interior. The front seats have been reupholstered, rear seat is very nice original. Carpet has been replaced. Headliner and visors are still mint. Door panels and armrests are excellent. Dash pad is mint. The instrument area is very nice. Has some cracks in the original steering wheel. There are 2 Ford gauges mounted neatly on the console. An extra set of keys and owner's manual are in the glove box.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Vin # matched Boss 302 motor with all the correct components. Completely rebuilt. We have photos of it apart and we have cam spec card. Vin is stamped on back of block (we have picture). Has correct manifolds and aluminum finned valve covers. #s match correct carb was professionally restored. It is a Holley 780, the biggest carb Ford has used. Original #s match distributor. Original Ram Air shaker hood is complete with the snorkel and the heat riser tube it. The correct smog equipment is completely intact, even has dated belt. There's Autolite hoses, clamps, plug wires, battery topper. Has correct assembly line markings and decals. It features factory power steering and brakes too.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Sally trunk compartment that has its original collapsible spare with Jack and air bottle has truck that it also has the original prop Rod to hold the trunk lid open
UNDERSIDE: Very solid, respectable condition. The floors and frame rails are solid original metal. Front end components are good, some of it replaced. The power steering system looks new. Bottom of the motor is clean. Has original vin # matching close ratio 4-speed. Vin is stamped on top, we have picture. Has original tag too. Has original traction-lok rear with optional performance 3.91 gears. Has assembly line markings on rear end and drive shaft. Has factory competition suspension- heavy duty springs, staggered shocks, sway bar and front disc brakes. This one has upgraded gas shocks.
This is the real deal with very desirable features and colors. For a Boss, this is considered loaded! Great documentation, very authentic. This is certainly investment grade. There may be other Boss Mustangs out there, find one that has even close to what this has to offer.
The story of the Boss: Built for a reason- to win races. And they did, winning the Trans Am title for 1970. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday. Trans Am racing limited the cubic inches to 305. The 290 hp, just like the Z-28 was very under rated for insurance purposes. Where did it get it's name? When people asked the designer what he was working on, he said "the boss' car".
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.

About Volo Auto Museum No other collector car dealer has been in business longer than the Volo Auto Museum. Owned and operated by the Grams family since 1960. We are the only collector car dealer that has 4 generations of experience with buying, selling and consigning classic autos. For our family, classic cars are more than a business, it is a passion. Over the decades, we have maintained a reputation for dealing with integrity as proven with our high reviews and A+ rating with the BBB. Buying a classic car can be exciting, but also stressful. We want to take the stress out of your buying experience by allowing you the time and tools you need to get to know the car you are interested in before making your investment, not after. Unlike auctions, we allow test drives, 3rd party inspections, the use of our shop and car lift. No reasonable request will be turned down. Selling a car can be equally stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. After reviewing your quality collector car, we will discuss the options we have available to you and let you decide what works best for you. We have cash available for immediate sales and we also offer a consignment program that surpasses anyone else’s. Unlike percentage based programs with fees; we work with a no fee, net to owner. This allows us the opportunity to treat and market your car as if it were our own. We invest approximately $1500 of our own money into marketing your car, which means if it doesn’t sell, we lose, not you. So, we are more aggressive in selling your car!
