Description

A vehicle well before it's time, the turbocharged Ford Mustang SVO was manufactured for only three years with only 9,844 cars being built in total. Rarest among these are the 439 cars labeled as 1985 1/2 model year. This is #438.
The SVO was a best of both worlds car with the power of the V8 powered Mustang GT but the low weight and excellent handling of a four cylinder. If you have never had the opportunity to drive one of these cars, it is truly a one of a kind experience. Ford upped the ante for the 1985 1/2 model with 205 horsepower compared to only 145 for 84-85 and 200 horsepower for 1986. This makes the rare 1985 1/2 model the most sought after SVO.
This vehicle is immaculately clean and in showroom condition with the following exceptions: There is a very slight parking lot door ding on the passenger door but no damage to the paint. The shift knob is worn from age and from the leather drying out and there are a few minor stone chips on the front. Otherwise this vehicle is peerless when it comes to condition and cleanliness. The car had been well cared for since new and recent updates include the factory color 2R Jalapeno red paint, weather stripping, headlights, tailights, parking lights and headliner. The tires are also newer and in great shape and this vehicle has never been in any accidents, seen snow etc. This car is also entirely rust free.
Aside from being what is most probably the most well cared for and clean SVO in existence, this vehicle has received several professionally done performance upgrades throughout its life. The intake is a cold air intake that feeds the factory turbo with boost controller. The charged intake air then runs through a front mount intercooler made by stinger. Once the air reaches the engine it is mixed with fuel supplied by larger injectors and a high flow fuel pump. Exhaust gasses flow out through a 3" downpipe and then out a custom mandrel bent 2 1/2" exhaust. A Spec Stage 1 clutch has also been installed to help cope with the added power. The A/C system has also been updated to 134A.
