I just can't believe that 1965 was over 50 years ago. I remember seeing lots of the great mid 60's Mustangs on the road for many years and have always particularly loved the 1965 and 1966 Mustang Fastbacks. In my opinion, these are the best cars that were ever built by Ford. I started really paying attention over the last few years and you just don't see many fastbacks out there on the road. There really were not alot of these manufactured, and then take into consideration how many were totaled or became restored high dollar Barrett Jackson Auction cars and it begins to make more sense. There just aren't that many variations in between. That's what I think is most appealing about this particular fastback. Many people tend to forget that a car is ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE. Very rare highly optioned car with "A engine code", power brakes, power steering, console, complete air conditioning, factory V8 option and automatic transmission. It is a very original, uncut, complete correct survivor car waiting for another 50 years of history to be told.

This car was purchased by the last owner in 1971 by a working manwith the working man's dollar. It will come with the original title from 1971 and the funny thing is that I even have the original sales paperwork showing the original note payable at $45 per month. I wonder how much car that would buy today? The Mustang served as a reliable daily driver to and from work as well as taking the kids to school and other family events. This car has been driven and cared for. This survivor carhas all original paint except for a small spot that was repaired on the front passenger side fender and the driver's side front fender was obviously replaced but not painted to match. In 1973 he hit a deer with the left front and it has had this nice replacement fender on it since 1973. Yes it has dings, scuffs, wear, and will need work,but the car isa very complete original rust free example thatwas used and maintained,not abused. There are many small imperfections that do not show up in photos. I have tried to describe and photograph to the best of my ability. He loved this car, his wife lovedit,and his kids loved this car. There are many years of memories and after many years the car becomes part of the family. This member of the family was later lovingly named "Florence." Upon retirement in 1998, thisfastback, AKA "Florence", was retired/replaced by a brand new Mustang and has been in storage ever since as he did not really want to part with the car. Well, the time has come to part with some things and someone will get to enjoy this hard to find survivor car.

This is an "A" codecar, and I have verified the numbers on the block to in fact be a 1965. It is believed to be the original 289 V8 motor. The intake and carburetor were changed from a 4 barrel to a 2 barrel during the gas crunch in the 1970's trying to make it a little more gas efficient. Otherwise, this appears to be 100% factory original. It even still has thefactoryA/C fan shroud. One thing I found which is rarely seen anymore is that this carstill has the original keeper locks on the exhaust manifolds!They are usually long gone by this point, so I thought that was really neat and complete.The engine has not been started since 1998, but it does turn over easily. While not currently running, the older gentleman said that it ran and drove great, just had oil leaks in 1998 when it was parked after purchasing a new one.Being an "A"code car, this came with factory power brakes, power steering, and complete Ford factory air conditioning. Thecompressor is currently detached but will come with the car to the new owner.

One of the great things about this particular survivor Mustang is that the paint is almost all original with the exception of a small area on the passenger front fender. This means that you will not have to deal with unforeseen rust issues or other major issues hidden by bondo under a shiny new paint job. This car is very solid, original, and nice but not perfect.There is rust on the passenger floorboard, looks to be an easy fix. There is a rust hole in driver's side floorboard about the size of a quarter which would be a very easy repair. Quarter panels, frame rails, and rocker panels are very solid and appear to be rust free, maybe a pinhole or two. It has the typical rust in the battery tray that is to be expected. All of these flaws are photographed for you to inspect below. The trunk is rust free, the quarter panel drop offs are rust free and solid. The frame rails are solid and beautiful. All body panels line up very nice except for where it was dented in the left rear quarter panel. (See photos) What you see is what you get on this one, and what I see is a great, solid, rust free, uncut, classic Mustang Fastback!

The interior of this car while it does show rips and wear is 100% stock original and uncut. Theupholstery on the seats obviously needs to be replaced, but the springs and frame are in great shape and all there. The doors do not have holes cut in them for speakers. The fiberglass inner quarter panels have not been cut for speakers. The original radio is still in the uncut dash. The rear fold down seathas not been cut for speakers. So many people cut these things up and it is really rare to find one that has not been cut.

This really is a great solid, rust free, survivor car that is going to make the high bidder very happy. Remember that a car is only original once, and finding a 1965 Mustang Fastback this original will continue to be more difficult to find.
