1948 Ford F5 Tow Truck/ Wrecker NO RESERVE!!!

You are bidding on a 1948 Ford F-5 Tow Truck/Wrecker. This beautiful beast belonged to a business we purchased earlier this year. He rebuilt trucks and hydraulics at the same location in Canton for over 50 years. This tow truck was included in the purchase of the business. We have no use for it and would love for it to find a home where it will be restored and loved.
This originally belonged to the previous owners brother and when the business purchased it, they rebuilt the engine. According to him, the truck only had about 100 miles put on it after the engine rebuild. He had planned on restoring the body on it and using it as a riding advertisement
The pictures tell the story better than I can. Everything you see in and on the truck comes with it including the old winch, etc. It is a really neat old truck with that cab over engine stretched look, and is similar to the ones you see being used by some of the TV shows to haul their new acquisitions (gas monkey fast and loud monster garage, etc.). It does need a lot of work as it has been sitting outside and has not been running for as long as it has been sitting. We have not seen if the engine will turn over, and frankly we are listing it low enough that it shouldn't matter!! If you want to look it over yourself, please contact me before you bid. NOTE: We listed as "rebuilt" title to satisfy ebay title requirement, but we do not have an actual title. This has not been registered for probably 30or 40 years. As anyone that is interested in this likely knows, these did not have a VIN number but were titled to the engine that the truck was sold with Will provide bill of sale to the winning bid.

As is Where is. You must make provisions to haul this on a trailer... and it is a very large truck, so please don't expect to bring a lawnmower trailer to pick it up!! May be able to connect you with someone to haul it for a fee at a reasonable rate if you live in IL.
