Description

1960 Ford Starliner Project car.To start with I want to make it very clear, this car started life as a base fairlane 4 door sedan model. I purchased a very rough starliner, used the roof, and doors, ect. to convert this to what you see. Ive had this licensed, and titled as a 4 door, for more than 10 years, with collector plates and had no issues with it. The title matches the numbers on the car. If you have a problem with this, I understand, so do not, bid on this expecting anything different, than what I have described, about the paper work. In other words, I'm being honest with you about this, and that's something that's kinda rare these days, but I'm not out to screw somebody, it is what it is.This isn't your average looking Starliner, with all the washboard trim, and do-dads that most starliners have on them, by starting with a simple fairlane, it really cleans the car up,This car runs great and I have driven it a lot in the past, but it has set, the last few years, always started, regularly, but not many miles put on it.Engine is a 1983 truck 460 bored .030 with a mild RV hydraulic lifter cam, with Edelbrock intake and carb. This was completely overhauled, when I first built it, not cheap to do, with a 460 engine. If I had to guess, it probably has around ten thousand miles on the engine, not sure because the speedometer isnt working. Trans is a 1969 mustang, toploader 4 speed. Rear is a original 60 ford 9" with 3:00 gears,non-posi, really needs about a 3:25 or 3:55 gear ratio, its great for gas mileage, but does hurt the torque curve a lot. this car will get around 15 mpg on the highway, that's unheard of for the 460 engine, they usually are known for passing about everything, but a gas station. It has dual exhaust, to the rear of car. Wheels are, a set of Halibrand Swirls, with the 3 bar knock offs, that actually are threaded on the wheel center, they are 15 x 7" all four corners. These wheels are in demand, in the hot rod scene, and they bring good money, when you purchase them, do a search, and see what I mean. The body will need finish work, but over all its a pretty straight car. Modifications, are as follows, originally a 4 door car, it was modified to accept a 2 door hardtop starliner roof and doors, top is chopped 1 1/2" from stock starliner roof height. thats adds to the look, and really shows up parked, next to a stock height starliner, its a pretty mild chop, most people, don't even notice it, others do, but are not sure what happened. But they all love the look and body lines. And no, it was not done by a previous owner, and yes, I know the details about the modifications. Front and rear glass is installed, but there are no windows in the doors. All the side door and rear quarter, glasses, will need the frames re-cut and re-welded, to match the chopped roof line. The paint consist of original black paint on parts of the car and primer on the body worked areas. The rear fender wells have been radiused. There is minor rust issues, at lower rear of front fenders, trunk floor, normal on 60 fords, and some minor floor pan rust in rear passenger floorboard foot area, but none of this is major. I included pictures o, what i believe to be the worst rust issues. The chrome and trim, is just original, driver quality, o.k., but not perfect. I have most all the original trim, and also have a parts car, that we could discuss, for extra money. There is very little interior, in the car.It has the original, 2 door starliner bench seats, front and rear, but no headliner, door panels or carpet.
So if you been looking for a 60s Ford muscle car, and one that gets a lot of positive comments and attention, and can do the work, this project needs, this is your car.Really would rather sell, but may consider, a trade- cash deal or even trade for the right vehicle. Here's my trade policy, prefer 1920s-1960s vehicles, and must be something, I'm interested in and I would need photos and details, to make a decision. Best to call after 5pm central time, tues-thurs or any reasonable time, fri sat-sun-mon. If you need to talk-660-346-8671 .Sold As Is, no warranty implied. If you have negative or low feedback numbers, I reserve the right to cancel, your bid. There are too many, idiots out there now days, that think, playing games is fun, and in the end it cost the seller, listing fees. This is a No-Reserve auction. Don't call me offering your help to sell this!
