1972 Ford Gran Torino, 351 Cleveland (Barn Find) Very Solid, Runs, Yard Drives
Description
I have a 1972 Ford Gran Torino that was parked in the 80's in a pole barn. I has been protected from the sun and is in pretty good condition. The interior seats are nice and will clean up good. They are not dry rotted and the material on the seats is soft. Of course the carpet needs replaced from previous use, but is still cleaner than usual. the dash pad has a repairable crack. Headliner is in great condition. It is a 351 2V Cleveland engine, with a FMX auto transmission, 2.75 ratio rearend. After picking it up, I put new plugs, wires, point, condenser, and fuel pump on the engine to get it started. I disconnected the gas tank and ran fuel from a clean fuel can to prevent any stuff in the original tank from clogging up the fuel system. It fired right up, and the engine has no smoke or unusual noises to determine that anything is wrong with it. the trans works, car moves forward and backward. I have yard driven it only, as it needs the brake system rebuilt. This car being in the dry all those years prevented rust from taking it over. this body is very solid and i can not find any rust holes on it. It is the original paint and vinyl top. It has (5) five original 14" Magnum 500 wheels. They need re-chromed, tires hold air but need replaced. This is a two owner car, second owner bought it in 1977 and owned it until I recently bought it. I still have the old style title that was issued to him in 1977. Looking at the condition of the pedals and interior, i think the miles are correct for this car. Of course the car is 44 years old, but it is in better than average condition for a car this old that is original. The only piece missing is the wheel well trim above the left rear wheel. The long trim spear is inside the car in rear seat. I'm going to let the pics say the rest. Also, including a pic of one restored. This is a very solid project that needs just a little work to drive it as is if you wanted to. All question will be answered (hopefully daily) via ebay messages. I will entertain offers before it meets reserve.
On Apr-19-16 at 20:08:23 PDT, seller added the following information:Notice:::: the picture of the really nice car is another car that has the same color and vinyl top options. It is shown only for the purpose of display of what the car for auction could look like when restored. The finished car is "NOT" included in the auction. Now that is cleared up!! Happy Bidding and Good Luck.
