Description

Stk#1987 1947 Ford Streetrod This stunning 1947 Ford Ragtop appropriately named Fatsoo has been the fodder of many a magazine article and is the end result of a lengthy six-year build performed by the craftsmen from Posies of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. As with most restorations of this caliber; this car is an absolute dreamboat. The entire body was checked for proper fit and block-sanded and refinished in their own Posey Red, that is so rich, deep and lustrous that it will leave you positively breathless. Glowing chrome and stainless-steel trim along with a pair of strategically placed Fatsoo emblems adorn the body with a minimalist approach that further underscores the beauty and foresight of this build. The rolled and pleated leather interior is equally breathtaking in workmanship; with ingenious touches like a 1955 three-spoke steering wheel, a dash-mounted ignition in the form of a rotary switch and push-button starter, the concealed AM/FM/CD stereo and A/C panel stacked and recessed inside the glove box and its factory style gauges, speedometer and clock that are bejeweled in a chromed dash pod that borders on the fringe of art itself. Power steering, brakes, windows and convertible top complete the package. Motivation is provided by a fuel-injected LT4 Corvette crate motor in stock guise that generates an honest 330 horsepower and 340 lb/ft of torque; Couple that with a 700R four-speed overdrive transmission and reliable Ford nine inch rear axle and you have the perfect recipe for cruising city boulevards or the open road with ease. For a more modern feel and drive, a Heidts independent front suspension with rack and pinion steering was employed. The stock frame was also treated to a new center crossmember to accommodate the aforementioned 700R4 and the rear was retrofitted to accept a Posies' parallel leaf spring kit. Master Power front disc and 10 rear drum-brakes handle stopping this beauty beautifully. So if cruising with the top down in a post-war Ford is your ticket to adventure... let the good times roll.
