Beautifully Restored Southern F1 Pickup

Ford released the F-Series in 1948, their first new civilian design following WWII. The truck's load capacities were designed by the number that followed the F: F1 indicated half-ton, F2 indicated three-quarter ton, and F3 indicated one ton. The sequence continued to F8 for the heaviest duty trucks.

The cab interior featured unique trim items unusual for pickup trucks of the era, including sun visors, ashtray, and accessibly designed instrument panel. The gauges were easy to see and read, and the view from behind the wheel over the hood wide open through a wide single-pane windshield.

The previous owner of this truck was born in 1948 and came home from the hospital in a truck just like this. She purchased it from a family in Texas, all of whom showed up, inspecting her to make sure the truck would have the appropriate care giver. This truck has been in two families, cared for very well, and considered part of the family.

If you're the sort of person who forms an emotional bond with a truck, you understand the story and know what it means for the quality of this F1. It was nice to begin with, but has been fully restored to original condition.
