1971 Ford Thunderbird 2 Door Coupe, with Thunder Jet Engine 429 V-8, NO RESERVE
Description
The 1971 Ford Thunderbird
My name is Al and I am a broker. I have been hired to sell this car on ebay. The pictures used in this auction were taken with my digital camera. The pictures have not been re touched, manipulated or photo shopped. I want to remind all bidders that there is NO RESERVE on this vehicle.
Here we have a very complete and original 1971 Ford Thunderbird, with the 429 V-8 Thunder Jet Engine, and 3 speed automatic transmission. These cars were built for comfort, power and durability. This car has only 86,000 miles on it. It does drive like a T-Bird. Fun and nostalgia wrapped into one car. It has been taken care of over the years. Engine is strong running, starts up and drives well. Tires and brakes are in good working order. It has been re painted with the original OEM Ford Yellow. The vinyl top is in great shape. Noted that the Air conditioning seems to blow cool, but not that freezing cold, so you may have to put some refrigerant in it to get it down to below zero, if you catch my drift. It looks like the trunk seal may have not sealed properly at one time, you can see some surface rust in the trunk, but nothing major. Well, I guess there will be some things that need some work on an older car, but wow, the body, no wrecks, dents, the interior, really? It looks like no body sat in the back seat. I think to be able to drive a classic up and down the highway at an affordable price, just might be the fun and the car you have been looking for. Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself. You just might find yourself behind the wheel of a Thunderbird.
So What Was Happening In The Year 1971?
The 1971 Ford Thunderbird, was the last of this body style. 1967-1971, had carried this traditional looking T-Bird for about 5 years, The 1971 Thunderbird, had the tried and true Thunder Jet Engine, connected to the traditional Ford 3 speed automatic transmission. The Thunderbird was a small part of the 9,146 two door hard top coupes produced that year. It came with rear wheel drive and did a great job in moving as one of the lighter cars of the day at 4,400 pounds. In dollars and sense? The average american annual income was about $10,600. The average home cost about $25,250.00, and a gallon of gas cost about 40 cents a gallon, and the average postage stamp about 4 cents. Those were the days, weren't they? Well you can re live almost all that, by taking this one home today.
