This truck was painted this spring with the factory original colors using all Dupont base coat/clear coat. The bed and hood were removed as well as all chrome trim, emblems, hardware, all interior, all weatherstripping and glass, grill, lights/lenses, tailgate, bumpers, etc. All body panels were stripped, sealed, primed and painted. Door jambs and interior were painted as well including the dash, interior of doors, inside cab corners, inside roof, etc. Truck was reassembled with all new rubber gaskets, weatherstripping, and window felts. All original trim was reinstalled as well as the original bumpers, original emblems and original dealership tag on the tailgate. All new marker light lenses, tail light lenses and turn signal lenses were installed. Inside of bed, tailgate and bed rails were sprayed with spray-in bed liner.
Inside, the entire floor, roof, back of the cab and inside of the doors were covered with over 60 square feet of Dynamat sound deadening/insulation material. New carpet was installed, seat was recovered with additional foam installed, and a small subwoofer enclosure/amplifier was added behind the seat. New headliner was installed, a new windshield along with all new gaskets/rubber/lock trim, and the windows were professionally tinted.
The original 302 was removed last month, taken down to the bare block and completely rebuilt. Block was cleaned/inspected, honed and repainted. New pistons, rings, bearings, camshaft, lifters, timing set, valve seals, oil pump and complete gasket set were installed during the rebuild. All stock replacement components were used. The engine literally has about 40 miles or so on it since the rebuild.
The truck was kept as original as possible during this rebuild. There are small dings in the trim here and there, a small bent place on the front bumper where the chrome is starting to peel a little, etc. It is a 37 year old truck...
It runs and drives very well and is a real head turner. Tires are in great shape. The A/C blows cold and heat blows hot. It shifts fine and stops fine. All of the original gauges in the dash work properly. I also rebuilt the entire front end about a year and half ago using all Moog parts - pivot bushings, radius arm bushings, new wheel bearings, seals, shocks, etc and had the front end aligned after all that work.
If you have any additional questions, please ask. I have a clear Arkansas title in hand.
