1978 Bronco HALFCAB
Description
78 Bronco For Sale, this truck has been my baby for over 10 years and I have made numerous upgrades. This is what I can remember.Engine:72 Lincoln 460 Block bored 40 overcrankshaft offset ground to 4.150 strokenew oil pan from jeffs bronco graveyard with dipstickAti super damper6.8 Eagle forged H beam rodsKieth Black forged pistonsCustom ground cam from "the mad porter" Int. .577 Ex. .601new timing cover, straight up double roller timing setported trick flow aluminum headscomp magnum roller rockersedelbrock air gap intake950 cfm holley hp series double pumper 100 shot n20 with 10 lb bottlenickel plated headersrecurved Duraspark distributorMSD 6AL boxspark plug wires are literally off of a nascar sprint cup carHolley electric fuel pumpAluminum Champion 4 core Radiator2 12" electric Spal fans also nascar take offsTransmission:Built C6Axles:dana 44 front9" rearsince this truck is a street queen I swapped a 4:11 gear set in to the rear, the front still has 3:55s but I never wheeled it so I never had the front done. Wheels/Tires:33x12.50x15 Goodyear DuratracMickey Thompson Classic Lock w/ anodized red lock ring.Paint:To my knowledge this bronco has not been painted. It still has the original door sticker on the door jamb.Body:The body is rust free with no major cancer areas. These trucks are notorious for the fenders and bottom of the tailgate but everything is in great shape. The racetrack trim is all good and solid. There is some pitting in the side mirrors and on the door handles. The rear half cab section is permanent. All of the holes where the rear cap would have bolted have been removed and filled. also the latch for the rear seat has been filled. The tailgate is filled and gutted where the rear window used to be. I would call the paint overall an 8 out of 10. I hunted far and wide for a cactus smasher push bar to no avail. The one that's on the truck is a repro and is powdercoated. The rear bumper has 1 ding in it while the front is in excellent shape.
This bronco runs very very well, if you win the auction you can drive it home. I drive it 3-4 times a week. The only things I would consider possibly fixing are the carpet is a little faded and the rear seal on the transfercase has become wet in the last few months. I keep this truck in my garage while my new truck and my wifes new car sit outside. In the glove box, I still havethe original owners manual. The previous owner lived in Alabama, I bought it and took it to Kansas where I drove it for a few years and even pulled a trailer every now and again with it. the engine developed a tick so I pulled it in to asses the damage. it ended up having a bent pushrod. Initially I only intended to fix the pushrod but by midnight I had the engine out and so went the build to what you see here. I ended up moving away from Kansas to Nc and the truck sat inside until I was ready for it. I have way too many projects and the wife says something has to go, so now its time for someone else to enjoy this amazing bronco. If you have any questions please feel free to message me. Thank you for looking! This truck is listed locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early should it sell prior to the end of this auction.
