1960 Ford Thunderbird - A Ravishing Red Classic!
This is an authentic Second Generation Ford Thunderbird, year issued: 1960, last production year of 2nd gen Thunderbirds..(1958-1960).
THIS Thunderbird is in ridiculously awesome condition for what it is and even more so when held in comparison for the dwindling number of its kind here, there and everywhere. This car when on the road, or parked, or cruising - is always the center of attention by everyone within eyesight of it.
Some Details:-This vehicle sat in storage for many years before I purchased it.
-I bought it as an easy to start vehicle that would idle(with the help of a can of starting fluid). I was given one warning/known issue of it's tendency to run hot(High engine temperature upon warm-up).
-The next owner will be purchasing a sound, reliable, sure fire start up, very healthy and surprise free babied, top shelf cruiser with a powertrain that runs strong and healthy.
-The powertrain consists of a numbers matching Ford 352 FE Engine(300HP) and an upgraded, much more heavy duty, reliable and all around better Ford C6 3-Speed Automatic Transmission(column shift) which is the updated version of the original Ford-O-Matic Auto Transmission that originally came with this vehicle.
-Being an automotive technician with a crazy passion for all cars, especially this one, I have enjoyed the massive amount of hours of labor I have invested in fixing all the original problems that I inherited with the purchase of this car. I have also proudly made a point of keeping the condition as original as it was when I first bought it.
-The DMV CA Registration is Current!
-I have upgraded the license plates to the newly reproduced "CA Black Plates" aka the CA Legacy License Plates which give an excellent added aesthetic appeal to the overall look of the ride.
-Nicknamed ''The Squarebird'', this was the original Personal Luxury Vehicle offered by Ford. The second generation Thunderbird was the first to include rear seating in the 2 door coupe.
-For 1960, the Thunderbird was given another new grille and other minor stylistic changes. Dual-unit round taillights from 1958 to 1959 were changed to triple-units after the fashion of the Chevrolet Impala.
