1936 Ford 2 Door Sedan - Just out of long time storage - Runs and drives!
Description
For sale is a pretty decent 1936 Ford Sedan. This car recently came out of 30+ years of storage. It had been "restored" some years ago. The years in storage were not kind to the body/paintwork as the car received numerous bumps and scrapes. Car runs exceptionally well after new battery, fresh gas, plugs, wires, points, condenser, coil, and a rebuilt fuel pump. RF and LR brake cylinders required rebuild so brakes are in working order although will need new shoes in the near future. (Car was converted to hydraulic brakes long ago - rather nicely done other than butcher job on floor for master cylinder installation) Transmission shifts smoothly and clutch seems just fine. While tires have very good tread and all hold air, they are 30-40 years old (at least) and must be replaced before car can be driven at high speeds. Car has a very nice looking factory radio which is not working. Has rear view mirror mounted clock that needs restoration. The car is also equipped with very nice stainless full wheel covers although one of the trim rings has several small dings in it. Interior is fair (newer mohair - not perfectly done) and shows fairly well with just a few spots (moths maybe). Headliner is nice (no holes) but also could use a little tweaking around rear window in particular. Deluxe interior trim is really nice and all there. Drivers side window crank missing knob. All window glass is good. Heater, blower works. All lights are in working order. Dash/cluster are in very in very good shape and all the gauges are working. All body metal including floors and running boards is very solid.
Following is a quick summary of body/paint imperfections I observed doing a quick walk around this morning. I do have the greyhound part of the hood ornament (an original - not reproduction) It is currently off while repairs are being attempted. Grill is decent/straight - needs steel wool and elbow grease. RF fender has been hit - dent isn't bad but radius of fender needs to be addressed. Also, someone tried to "spray bomb" damage and got over spray on hub cover (comes off easily) Both front fenders have numerous scrapes and scratches from improper opening and closing of hood.RH door is very nice with just a couple very small chips. RR fender has several scrapes. Back of car has several scrapes and scratches (Not horrible) Spare tire cover is in nice shape. The rear bumper has a scrape on lower RH side that has taken a small section of chrome off. LR fender has a multi lines scrape that has had some paint touch up.Drivers door, while overall in very good shape, has numerous door dings. Rubber on running boards is passable but not great. Trim at bottom of both running boards needs more of that elbow grease. Top fabric is in very good shape - needs dressing. I have ordered some top dressing which will go with car or I may do it if I have time. Overall impression is that this car would make a great cruiser with minimal work. It could also be restored if that's your deal. I can take more pictures and email them to you if required.
