This is an unfinished project car in salvageable condition, for parts or repair.
The car has been modified, and does not have its original motor, or transmission.
In its place appears to be a 302ci V8 from a later model Ford car or truck, and a 4-Speed Top-Loader Transmission with an ID tag reading "RUG-AU".
The RUG-AU is a close ratio, 31-spline output shaft, 4-Speed manual transmission.
This transmission would have been original equipment for a 1970 Ford Fairlane with a factory installed 429ci engine.
The engine does run, however is not turn key, as the car is lacking a fuel delivery system.
Being a factory V8 equipped car it is equipped with 5-Lug Axle Shafts, and Front Wheel Hubs.
Some parts of the interior are missing, and / or have been changed, and are not original to the car.
It is likely that some modifications may have been made to accommodate these different parts, and pieces.
The condition and functionality of the brakes, and clutch systems are unknown, however it should be assumed that the car is not safe to operate in it's current condition.
The body of the car is fairly straight, and in good condition, with minimal damage, and rust.
The body is not complete, and is missing all finishing trim, hardware, emblems, bumpers, lights, handles, wipers, and the tailgate.
The background, and history of the car are unknown, however it is known, that the car was previously titled in California.
The lack of a color code on the vehicle data tag suggests that the car was special ordered with a color outside of the Ford color line-up for 1965.
Under the current black primer appears to be Ford's "Industrial Yellow" OR "School Bus Yellow" with a White top.
It is possible that the car was ordered with a special color to be used as a service vehicle.
Overall this would make a nice project car. Something along the lines of a resto-mod, or something insane for the track or the street would fit it well.
The lack of originality, and butchering do not make it the best full blown restoration candidate, but with those original parts it could be that too.
Whatever the cars fate may be, it needs a clean slate, and a fresh start to be something of beauty again.
