Description

This is my 1986 GT. My buddy bought it from the original owner a couple of years ago and had it repainted maybe 3 years ago because the paint was faded badly. I bought it from him last year and drove it almost daily until recently when I found my dream car, a 1990 Ford Crown Victoria Country Squire Wagon :) which is my new daily driver. Paint still looks brand new. Paint scheme was originally as you see it from the factory, but the lower half of the car was painted black instead of charcoal and the hood decal which covers the center of the cowl was not put back on. When it was repainted we replaced the trunk with a trunk from a mustang coupe so there is no luggage rack or a 3rd brake light. If you need a 3rd brake light where you live this might not be the mustang for you. Looks a hundred times better this way.
The wheels are American Racing 15x7 mesh wheels that were a back up set for my old 86 Saleen. i only have 2 center caps as 2 fell off, they are not on the car, but will be included as I didn't want to lose anymore.
Many cars for sale on eBay don't look as good in person as they do in pictures, this mustang looks every bit as good in pictures as it does in person. There is not a dent or ding on the car and the paint is very nice.
The interior is faded, but there are no holes in the carpet or upholstery. Front and rear seats are actually and very good condition except for the fading which is hardly noticeable. The dash pad has cracks in the speaker holes.
Most everything works including AC, heat, cruise, fog lights, etc....What doesn't work off the top of my head is right turn signal light on the instrument cluster (all exterior lights and signals work) and the shift light.
The mustang is just about 100% stock except that there is a k&n panel filter in the air box. All emissions parts are installed as it came from the factory.
Sounds perfect? Well almost being 30 years old there are a few minor things.... it will need at least 1 muffler as it has a hole. The driver side has a slight lean that most can't notice, but I notice it. I will include a brand new set of lowering springs just in case it bothers you. It runs and shifts fantastic, but on initial start of the day I let it warm for a minute or 2. It is not necessary as you can get in and go, but there is a slight hesitation on initial take off if you don't give it enough throttle, doesn't do it if you wait the minute or 2. It could you the vertical quarter glass weather stripping, but not necessary. Goes for about $30. Power locks don't work. All windows work and have new motors and top works as it should.
There is no rust under the car, under the doors, etc... No rust repair either.
This is a very nice and reliable mustang that will make somebody very happy. I would not hesitate to drive in to California and back. Anything can happen with a used vehicle, but I wouldn't hesitate to fly in and drive home.
Please only bid if you plan on buying it. If you have less than 10 feedback, do not bid unless you contact me first as I will remove your bid. Ask as many questions as you like because I'm sure I forget things here and there like and I will respond promptly. If you want to talk in person, send me your number and I will call you whenever you want me to.
I started the auction at $3500 with no reserve with the hope that it will go much higher, bid often:)
The only reason I am selling is so that I can get money together to buy 3/4 or 1 ton truck to tow a 5th wheel or camper. If you have a reliable truck, diesel preferred, I can add money for the right deal.
You can pay the whole amount via PayPal, but you will have to cover the fees. Deposit is non refundable unless you actually come to get the car and it is not what I described it as (it won't be ).
