Description

My dad originally gave me this truck. He was a mechanic in the auto repair business for over 30 years. He thought it would be nice to build a classic car with each of his children.

Over the years we decided to make it into a clean street rod. It already had the Chevy 350 and automatic trans in it when we got it, but it was mostly stock aside from that. As we began to build the truck we decide that updated suspension would provide a nice ride and handling. We decided on a mustang II air ride setup in the front, and a four-link kit with air bags in the rear. Now that the truck is drivable you can definitely tell that the ride is smooth and the steering is tight. Along with the suspension we were able to upgrade the front brakes to disc and install a dual master cylinder with power booster. The brakes stop easily, smooth, with no pulling.

On the inside we were also going for a clean street rod look. The ididit column and the VDO midnight series gauges really give it a good start. Those in combination with the smoothed dash are really starting to look clean. I did choose to stick with the stock bench seat so that I could have at least some of the nostalgia of a classic truck. I was planning on having it reupholstered with some nice stitching and matching door panels. The lokar shifter that sticks up in the center like the original shifter also adds to the nostalgic feel.

The truck is not to far from complete for someone who has the time to put in. The front tilt fiberglass front end does not require much bodywork, and makes working on or showing of the engine compartment a neat experience. The cab is pretty straight also, with inset door hinges and smoothed door handles already completed. The bed has some surface rust, but it is minimal. The main things left to complete are to fabricate the tailgate, roll pan, and bed bottom, paint the truck, and straighten out the wiring. The truck comes with brand new pre cut glass with the center layer tinted lightly, most of the rubber components needed, power window setups, and bunch of other misc. parts.

The quality of the build can be seen in the details. The combination of my dad who had 30 years of professional automotive experience and me with a meticulous mindset ensures the quality. When you look at the engine, chassis, and hardware you will see that the time and effort was taken to make this a reliable and clean truck.

Deciding to sell this truck has been a difficult decision (especially when I drive it!). My dad past away over a year ago from cancer, and since then my career has taken off and my wife and I have started a family. Life has changed significantly and a single cab street rod just can't fit into our lives for a long time. Feel free to message me. I would be happy to call anyone to discuss your questions or concerns.
